You need to get out more Mart, how about Computer Related, not much of a trip. There you'll see multiple mentions from me of a real issue that's affecting me.
Yes I will tell you that the iPhone is the best Smartphone on the market, but I won't tell you it's absolutely perfect in every way. Although it's getting there with the iPhone 4.

as i said, my Sony bluetooth headunit is compatible with:-
My Samsung mp3 player
My Nokia N97
My Samsung Omnia
My K800i
My wifes SE phone.
its great to be able to stream audio from the phone to the car, and have
the head unit control everything.
18 months is a long time to be left playing catchup Jack.
prhaps you need to get it jailbroken, and install a 3rd party app

As was explained in the conference Leslie, practically all smartphones suffer from this problem. Changing the aerial design will only move the problem elsewhere. The groundbreaking design of the iPhone 4's aerial has improved reception more than it has degraded it, I very much doubt that Apple will change this.
Its just I cant see why that type of phone should suffer from signal issues more than an ordinary phone unless it was designed with form over function in mind.

Serious question-why is signal an issue with all 'smartphones' or is it down to network provider?

That's very true Richie, there are some wonderful, sensibly priced products out there that you have the right to purchase. This is a Subaru forum though, you do know that?

I had to wait 18 months for delivery of my very expensive 2000 Turbo Impreza. It didn't function half as well as other cars in the price range, but I wanted something fast and at that time it's image was good. Form over function. You even make the point yourself, "if you know one end of a spanner".
Look, don't waste your time on iPhone threads, if you don't own one, don't buy one, if you do own one, take it back for a full refund.

By the way I meant 2k as in 2 thousand pounds not year 2000(not like you to leap to conclusions)-hence the comment about knowing one end of a spanner from another as the labour costs on these are the killer not the parts pricing.
As you were unhappy with your car did you reject it and get your cash back?
