Meh, nasty words etc I've grown to take with a pinch of salt. I recieved a lot more than nasty words though and several respected members on here saw what I recieved (verified by mods as well).
There's trolling (like Pete and his political threads for example) and then there is blatant nastiness which for me is beyond trolling. Why some people enjoy this is past my knowledge. Maybe because it's not aimed at them
Anywho, me, myself and I - well past that stage of my life now and an expectant father, so as above comments go straight over ones preverbial bald head

You seem to have got things sorted and become more thick skinned which I guess is what you are saying, I too cannot understand why anyone would log in just to inflict hurt on someone, thats a bit tragic really, taking the p1ss is fine if its in the right bounds and done with the correct sentiment.
I dont class Pete as a Troll, just someone who likes to stimulate debate.

The more upsetting thing is when said members (or aliases of members) are seen as placid or 'ok' by other members. Makes you wonder why they take time out of their lives just to create new accounts and send vile messages/threats/insults ...and some folk like people who do this

Exactly, why, what possible reasons could anyone have to hide behind and alias - have the guts to say/write it and accept the consequences and what people think of your real id, the everyday one. Speaks volumes about the strength of character and the conviction of those who hide.

Exactly.Some people, however, aren't on here for genuine debate or to make a positive contribution to the place: some just want to agitate the community and undermine the place. Alternate IDs are all part of that game.
I like to think we've weeded most of them out! *evil grin*
