3 x 4 = 12.

2 x 7 = 14.

Just to clarify; 4mm is less than 7mm. Also 12 is less than 14 - however this irrelevant as the tyres in question only had 4mm and 7mm on.

I trust you can understand this now that it is written out for you
I was working it out per tyre.

With £200 I could have got 2 lots of tyres, both 4mm each. Therefore giving me 8mm in the end.

Where as the other bloke got 7mm for his £200.

Plus I got 3 tyres and he only got 2.

FWIW anyway, i got my mate to fit them for me, he is a manager at one of the nations big tyre outfits and he said to me.

"You paid HOW MUCH??" "**** that man i can get you them for free!"

Just waiting for a nice matching set to turn up for the rear

WOW this has been blown out of proportion. It's each ot their own and i have used part worns before and would do also as long as there spot on. I also have a good relationship with my tyres garage and they wouldn't give em sh#t tyres.

As i said each to their own!!!!!!!!

This thread should RIP now

This is bit heated guys, personally ive always brought new tyres for all my present (05 jdm sti) and past cars but each to their own of course.

and it also helps if your brother works for a well known brand of tyre and gets 45% of

just my 2p's worth

I was thinking that too

Is this thread an example of where and how Subaru ownership is going now?

RIP Impreza

Judging by both this thread and that thread I'm afraid it may just be.

Anways, after thinking I would have to pay around £350 for them. I got them for £100 including fitting from The Tread Shop in Chichester.

They were part worn and had 4mm of tread left.

From new they only have 8mm.

A bit of a bargain me thinks. And I bet a few other members on here will benefit from the info as well.
he only needs 3 tyres so it must be a souped up reliant robin or something - part worn tyres probably OK then.......
