Well folks anyone with a few "Bob" , may I suggest buying a funeral directors....if the rumours of ...all police will be armed are anything to go by , its a sure fire way to get rich (or dead). The worrying thing is an innocent man walks home from work......skirts around the G10 protest and gets murdered by a policeman......
A Brazilian electrician late for work...... running for the Tube gets shot to death....AND the jury at the coroners court are INSTRUCTED they cant deliver a verdict of unlawfull killing......anyone spot a trend here ?
Anyone old enough to remember Blair Peach ?
Anyone remember a 10 year old child shot to death by Manchester Police? During a raid on his parents place the kid hid under the covers on his bed......HIS bed......NOT his parents bed....
In my opinion , the police watch too many of those....Stop Police TV programs....Some think they'er Starky and Hutch I,m sure......Time to come back down to earth plod.....your PUBLIC SERVANTS

I really don't know, but I doubt it as you say.

But even that does not justify the behaviour of the coppers by any means.

If you watch the video he did not have that much time. The copper ran to the car and started trying to smash the window straightaway!

Did you see the video Felix. The copper ran straight to the car and started trying to smash the window in.

He certainly did not appear to be violent at all.

If you are going to denigrate his character then you must be able to let us into the secret and show us the evidence for for what you are saying. Surely you would not make accusations without good reason.

The previous...
http://archive.southwalesargus.co.uk.../30/58738.html

but wait, there's more...
http://www.southwalesargus.co.uk/arc...to_sue_police/

The first article concerns magistrates court. A mate once said 95% of people who attend magistrates courts are found guilty, ergo, they're all wrong-uns. I prefer another explanation, magistrates tend to side with the prosecution and it is only on appeal at crown court that someone has a chance at a fair hearing.

Of course I wouldn't .... so, just for you .....

"Robert Clive Whatley, 64, of Four Ash Street, Usk, was found guilty of using a motor vehicle without insurance and no MoT, using insulting words and behaviour and failing to give his name and address to a constable when asked"

"Whatley had pleaded not guilty to each of the offences but after appearing in the morning, he failed to attend Abergavenny magistrates court yesterday afternoon and the case was heard in his absence"

"When asked to produce an MoT and insurance documents, Whatley refused and when asked for personal details he also refused and he used abusive language and gestures"

"They found him guilty of all offences. Sentence was adjourned"

He is scum, Les .... an agressive, foul mouthed, pikey who gives not one rats 4rse about the law and what is expected of him.

You never know, Les .... you may care about the person he runs down and leaves at the scene leaving them to die alone - because he quite clearly has no regards for anyone else but himself. Then come back here and tell everyone that he should be given £100,000 in compensation because a Coppa gave him what he had coming!

I prefer another explanation: magistrates have heard it all before (many times) and won't be taken in by the Defendant's lies. A jury hasn't, and might be. A rule I was told many years ago: if you are charged with an "either-way" offence, then go for Magistrates if you really are innocent, and Crown if you are guilty. The acquittal rate at Crown is (I believe) about 40%. I struggle to believe that 40% of those in the dock are innocent of the charge. Actually I struggle to believe 5% or those in magistrates are.

Thank you for the explanation Pete, don't know where that all came from, we had not seen it of course.

Of course I don't condone those motoring offences and actions. I consider no insurance to be a serious offence too.

He sounds to be of poor character as you say now that you have told us a bit more about his behaviour. He will doubtless get the appropriate sentence for all that.

Even so, I think the two coppers went over the top with their behaviour since he was not threatening them with a weapon at the time.

I know Les - I said this before that he should have tried the door first.

Or - did they spot a potential weapon in the car when they stopped him the first time (screwdriver ect)

How could they spot a weapon through his illegal tints ??

The police officers should have walked over and opened the car door, then if the driver wasnt willing to cooperate then necessary force to get the job done..

Not Dirty Harry style...........

Obviously there superiors have decided to suspend them for a reason..That is in itself serious,as most police stupidity gets swept under the carpet...

It might have been less. I'm quoting something said over 20 years ago.

Whatever the situation, you're unlikely to win at Magistrates court.
