Give it a rest DCI for pity's sake. I thought you were one of the more grown up members of SN ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
The first racist comment was the joke about Pakistani people smelling (Post 3, now gone) and it went downhill from that point.

quite right . i wouldnt send em the sweat of my **** to drink let alone money to fund training camps , like i said karma has a wonderfull way of biting you on the **** , as for their presadent over here with cameron . fair play he is probably property hunting while learing how to waste money like our goverment
Next time you have a meal think about that little kid who has no food & has lost his family. This way you might make a donation for 5 quid which still will make a huge difference.

Havent you lot been watching the news showing the disaster? Fair enough you are entitled to your opinion about the Taliban etc, however sending money over will not be supporting the Taliban it will actually support a family with shelter & food. If you send your money through the red cross it will go straight towards the people who are in need. Right now its all about supporting the people in need and doing the right thing in the name of humanity.

If your individual opinion is that they would do nothing then i cant change that but just make sure you hang onto something when your drowning.

'They' would probably do as much as possible to support us. Pakistan has already supported UK & the USA with fight against terrorism. So you can imagine if a similar disaster happened to us then there is no doubt we would have support from many foreign countries.

I think you should refrain from even legitimising that idiots comments with an answer though. To make such stupid and baseless remarks can only be result of an in built inadequnecy, due to poor upbringing, and lack of education
Some of the frankly racist comments on this thread (mostly removed thankfully) show some of the 'The Great British Public' up for what they are, ignorant, thoughtless and selfish

Thankfully some of our senior and respected posters have maintained balance otherwise it would appear Snet had metamorphosised in to Stormfront. I am of 'Paki'stani origin and over the years I have collected for Dr. Barnados, NCH (Google it), Christian Aid, Help The Aged and many others. I think when a fellow human being is in need it is one's duty to help. To mock and make sick jokes is not only distasteful but a reflection of the character of that person.

If you want you enemies (not saying Pakistan is but certain elements within) to change how they think and feel then no better way of winning hearts and minds as well.
Win-win imho
There is something very wrong with just sitting by and watching others suffer, especially kids!

Yup, it is humanity, it is the right thing to do.

Good to see that SN has some decent human beings after all. I began to wonder.
I have travelled quite a bit but never to Pakistan. Most ordinary village people are quite charming and will do what they can to help you. Far more, I think, than we would do over here. When they get into power though it's a different story where their lack of education shows. But I am told that even educated MPs in this country are not perfect![Suspicious](images/smilies/Suspicious.gif)
Getting back to my original post I heard on the main news that getting fresh water to drink was top of the agenda. And there are the families sitting in the pouring rain. Surely there must be a basic way of catching this water to drink???

I think it's tragic. These are ordinary people, trying to get on with their lives. They are not extremists or any other bad thing some folks want to call them.
The look of despair on some of the peoples faces breaks my heart.
I sincerely hope something can be done to help them.
So, so sad

But even if their government weren't helping would that be justification for not helping innocent families?

Just as an off-topic aside I see that the Indian Govt are doing their best to help Britsih Tourists caught up in the Himalayan landslides seemingly giving them priority over their own people.

I have to say that when I think of those people, most of whom are poor with a low standard of living and who have nothing to do with politics or the terrorists being inundated with water up to their necks and seeing their homes and cattle being washed away, and losing their lives, as well as losing any other possessions they might have, I find it difficult to understand why there are people who feel the need to try to make cheap jokes at their expense.
People are people the world over, it is always politicians and selfish leaders who make the troubles, and when there is a national disaster such as this one then I feel that the rest of the world has a duty to help them recover from it.
