I used DS2500's in my 4 pot calipers coupled with Godspeed 294mm discs for 9 months including day to day driving and 5 trackdays.......The discs gave out before the pads! cant beat the Ferodo's IMO.

Andy, I was one of the original testers and you used my car in your blog on the EBC Bluestuff NDX pads when they were released.
My front discs (Godspeed 2 part discs) are due to be replaced shortly due to wear (not warped, scored or destroyed) and the pads are still in good condition but I'm looking to change the pads with the discs.
I have had no problems with 'melting' or 'smearing' of the compound, in fact the picture below which is a pretty extreme demonstration of how well the Bluestuff NDX and Godspeed discs work.
I have AP CP7040 brake calipers on the front and Brembo STi gold calipers on the rear.
I'm happy to test another set of front for you and let you have my first set for examination if you're interested.

OK understood but where do we go from here
1) I have just ordered at a price of £172 a set of Pagids for you
2) I cannot guarantee they will work any better but it will give you and me a direct comparison and determine if it’s the system or the Bluestuff pads.
3) If you want 100% guarantee of good brakes to have to shell out quite some cash
4) Please DO NOT go to a Trackday with the parts I sent you, I prefer to get them back unless you want to keep them for street to compensate for the items you feel we scrapped for you on the trackday
5) If you don’t want to test the Pagids, that’s also fine
This sums it up really, we are still looking for a tester to try new materials of pads and discs but if you say you wont do it due to Trackday costs I will have to find someone who will do that for us
Just tell me then where we stand Paul
Cheers and kind regards Andy

Re number 4 above - You don't want me to test Track only pads on a track?
There seems a few post's taking up your offer of trying your pads - but are these on the WRX set-up ? It seems we've already established they're OK (on the whole) on the Brembo & upgraded brake set-up. Don't know what more it will tell us if they're tried with these
It appears Jayallen is running a similar set up but running Ferodo's without problems.

Fastboyslim, still waiting for your address !!!!!!!
Good news.
Our R and D guys have identified a minor compound tweak that should work and cut out the smearing and that should in turn keep the discs cleaner and may even eliminate the judders on this problematic WRX 4 pot system. I still am intent on going ahead launching HIGH CARBON DISCS in August or earlier if possible as planned as for a few bob extra these will be worth every penny.
Repeating again, even on this thread, NO OTHER systems showing similar problems and just about perfect news from everyone although it does seem a slight tweak to the material is needed for the WRX 4 pot system.
Once we do this and it works, we will make an immediate cross check on the Brembo WRX Sti caliper set up on325 mm discs and if it works as well, we will make a blanket compound adjustment.
Looking good guys
Have now six testers waiting for pads to compare current compound with the new stuff and when we know its dialed I will be back to you Paul ( I am cos)
Cheers for now

Andy.
I would be delighted to evaluate the new development compound compared to the Ferodo DS2500 I currently have fitted with DBA Wiperslot discs, DOT5.1 and braided hoses on the WRX calipers. Please let me know if I can assist. Kind regards. Bob

I received the discs thanks, but have been on a mammoth shift & haven't had a day off for a while. I'll get them checked out at work for run-out before I fit them & again after fitting.
I will of course keep you posted with my developments - you will have to bear with us for a while though as we're quite busy at work, trying to win another world title - (not manufacturing soft drinks )

My post was in relation to you blaming the OEM calipers for the performance of your pads, i fail to see how the calipers are fine with one brand and not with another.
Oh, and i apologise for not blowing smoke up your **** in turn for a new set of pads.....

can someone explain why we are attempting to compare Pagid rs4.2.1 and Ferodo ds2500 materials with the new NDX blues?? my understanding is that this was aimed at a more aggressive market/use than the others and hence would be far superior?? therefore maybe Pagid rs14/rs15 would be a better test??
looking at the issues brought up with the 4pot OEM caliper i am amazed that we ever managed to get to the end of various rallies and races with grpN cars that required a std braking system and even had "anti-knock back" springs fitted!!
bemused, alyn

I went to castle Coombe for the action day last month! It was great out on track, just don't get drawn into Racing anyone lol

Hi Andy,
Did you post me out the pads as I haven't received them yet??
#148
Yeah Standard WRX 4 Pots on a Hawk, With Godspeed Grooved Disc's, Braided Hoses and 5.1 Fluid.
Fitted them on Sat, Currently bedding them in with the drive to work and back. Will report back as soon as I have given them a proper work out.

Cheers mate - although I'm in a 2005 Blobeye - it should be a good comparison as it's seems your set-up (apart from the braided lines) is the same as mine. Hopefully we'll get nearer an answer to the problems after your trackday.
Oh & are the pads a new compound or the standard Bluestuffs?
