Fuel consumption?

340 miles out of a tank...... that is the biggest load of shizzle i have ever heard!
any turbo scoob i can assure you will never do 340 miles to a tank.
scoobynet is across the board pretty good for sourcing information and tech knowledge for al of you out there with scooby related questions...
but they are the few people on here that are just plain idiots
its a 60 litre tank and will do around 200 general driving.
in my case i get about 180.... buy urself a little run about is my advice and tune the b-jesus out of the scoob!

I got 22.6mpg on a tank of V-Power, last fill up (STi 5, std 276bhp). That's nigh on 250 miles on its JDM 50-litre tank.
That's mainly off-boost 'normal' driving, mostly urban, but with the occasional serious blast, etc.
Basically, with mixed driving expect an ave. return of c.21-23mpg...

fuel economy is all relative. I have had the 07 STi now for 2 weeks and have managed 260 miles to each tank from full to light on.
This is about twice as far as my previous car on its 70 litre tank, so I think it is cheap to run!!

my03 wrx from a full tank to empty, straight onto a motorway i did a 200mile each way trip and i got 360 miles doing 70 - 80mph on this map but i know i was told that was running rich or they said the graph shouldnt look like that. but even on my new mapped car if i can keep it a long journeys it will hit 200mile just from full to half a tank mark

I get around 15 (last two was 15.2) - 17 mpg from full tank .
Mostly A roads and B roads. Everyday use etc round trip to and from work is 22 miles
Motorway and A/B road trips I get approx 18-21 mpg. Everyday use etc round trip to and from work if the above route is pony is 51.6 miles .
Don't think that's that bad at all to be honest?

WRX commuter
Just to add my 2p's worth.
I drive a Hawkeye WRX PPP wagon, and do a 16mile commute every day and probably average a couple of 'fun' drives a week. Predominantly A&B roads with maybe 40% on dual. I get UP TO 250 from a tank. I base that on a year's experience.
Ultimately fuel consumption has to be slightly less of a priority if you're buying an Impreza - but I noet that you are after an STI PPP or a WRX PPP - not a standard STI?
EVO first reviewed the Hawkeye WRX as a 4.5star car and a better all rounder than the basic STI... there's lots to choose from. In all honesty if the wagon STI hadn't only been JDM I'd have gone for one of those.
All I will say is that if your budget can take it you WILL NOT regret the Impreza. It puts some of the theatre back into driving, and I find them a massively refreshing alternative to the identical Euro boxes which are all about tidy, well specced but ultimately uninspiring designs. The Impreza is a pure driving machine and twiddly bits of trim come second to a great chassis engine and suspension. Personally I love the ugliness of the Wagon - and it as practical as the estate. (Also attracts less attention so maybe less nickable..?)
Good luck whatever you do

07 wrx, 26mpg before map and a few bits done to it, now 290bhp and 22mpg, and about 250 to 280 miles per tank. i suppose 30mpg is not impossible on a long motorway run at 55mph. Some people do try and run a scoob on a tight budget, myself included, theres nowt wrong with that. A tank of fuel lasts me a month, if i had to use it to commute, then i would consider getting a corsa or micra sh1tter for work, and scoob for weekends. Would prob work out cheaper.
