Unhappy

Errrr - I didn't say the STi7 had either, or was inferring it, or was knocking you in any way. I just said what defines a quick car on the road. Doesn't even have to be a Subaru.

They don't have a new ECU as such, just probaly a prepared ECU with the chip soldered in

So you will just be able to buy the kit, plug it in and go.

Make sure you have the reduced restrictor though because this gives you more boost

Hope this helps

Don't be gullable and believe the hype, try before you buy. You may find that you will spend £1600-1700 on the PPP and then additionlly need to fit a DP and Up pipe to get what you are expecting.

I've driven and riden in a few PPP'd (MY00's and MY01's) cars and have yet to be convinced.

Often the boost is not set up to spec on PPP cars. Some are only running standard boost. Loads of people on here report boost of 15-16 PSI on here and others get over 17.

It took me a lot of fiddling to get mine right - now running 19 but that is fiddled with a bit more

Dont read everyhting into the quoted power increases for SS/TSL exhausts only.... the power only comes in at 5-6000rpm - and you get a nasty flat spot lower down. The PPP totally spanks a full exhaust in the torque low down - some 60-70ft/lbs more all the way up to 4000 rpm, and still higher at the redline.

Check the dyno graphs on this site - compare Pete Croneys to the guy with the MY01 PPP.
OK, a couple of points here...

First look at the mileages, my car had 3k, Jason had 11.5k. Who feels that their car isn't considerably better once its got over 7k on it? I know mine was.

"power only comes in at 5-6000rpm" ????
"PPP totally spanks a full exhaust in the low down torque" ??????

I think you have got your graphs confused M8 My car has 40lb more than a PPP at 3000rpm. That equates to a full 23% more power.

What hasn't been discussed is throttle response. The PPP will be sitting at the apex growing a beard whilst the downpiped car has spooled up and gone.

Totally spanked?

Doron, I think dave allready said this: "For the MY01 >, the PPP is an exchange ECU which has a piggyback board fitted. The dealer then fits the complete ECU."

P.S
Stop posting with capital letters or people will likely associate the first letter in your name to be an "M" '

Chris
You beat me to it!

RR figs are meaningless. Only measured in one gear for one thing. It's how the car performs on the road that matters - driveability is the issue.

People chase big HP on the RR as a ***** size thing, but it's low down torque and a wide torque band that define a quick car on the road.
