Hi Andy

I'm up north on the Moray Firth in sunny Lossiemouth, some give both holidays here, some don't. I like the people that do

Good day to you Sal!

Many years ago I stayed in Lossiemouth for a week - working as an insurance assessor (you'll have noticed the Lossie floods quite a bit!). Nice part of the world, liked the granite buildings.

I saw the Eurofighter-and heard it! . I heard that the Lanc etc was cancelled earlier in the week because of bad weather. Don't know if they came on another day.

Pity it was all at short notice, you could have parked here and saved some hassle. Next year then!

Yeah I heard about the Lossie flooding but have never seen it as I've only been here for a couple of months and it's been pretty dry. Anyway, I'm OK as I'm next to the West Beach on the other side of town

Did you enjoy the constant noise of the jets buzzing round? It still never ceases to make me grin as I come out of the hairdressers/doctors/bakers/candlestickmakers and see a Tornado crossing the street at low level

Lossie is on the block as part of the Strategic Defence Review... they're looking at potentially closing both Leuchars and Lossie, hope they don't, but enjoy them while you can

I do quite enjoy seeing Tornados etc, but always get a bit of a fright by the sudden racket, lol! You get used to it when you've done alot of driving round the Scottish Borders too, where the flyboys go to play.

Let's hope not. You could simply say that the RAF is part of the Strategic Defence Review.

I did it.

I'm now officially dead. This typing is just the final spasms...

Next time I think of doing this kind of idiocy I really ought to check the damn' weather report and not go when it's blowing Storm force winds.

I'm not going out today on the roadbike as intended. V windy!

Will definitley do my planned 65 mile trip through the local undulating Scottish countryside (it's pretty windswept anyway, so if it's blowy in the city you can guarantee a whirlwind along the lang whang! )

You're a brave guy riding the lang whang on a bike.

Actually quite a few roadies do it. Although the cars go v fast, as long as you stay in close to the left, it's not too bad.
