I've never used them, But know plenty that have on road/track and the reports have been excellent.
I've been running R888's on road/track for a while now but switching to my road wheels (Conti 3's) when the weather is really bad. Sadly the R888's are a wee bit devoid of tread now so I chucked on a set of R1-R's last week and have to say that I'm very very impressed indeed. I'll never go back to a dedicated road tyre after running these.
Oh, And they look pretty cool too...

As above...R1R is sht-hot !! But track biased in terms of noise and comfort.

For a really good road/track compromise, Bridgestone RE050A is still very hard to beat. Good, predictable grip in the wet, even standing water, and yet they can stand up to track abuse without resigning to meltdown.

Continental claims to have beaten the RE050A with the new "5P", but size availability is still a bit limited.

Fair enough, The ride is a bit harsher as is the road noise, But they're certainly no worse than say a Pilot sport imo and when warmed up they're perfectly civilised for daily duties.

I have pilot sports on mind at the moment actually. They came on it when i bought the car.

Have a track day in 2 weeks. How will the pilots hold up in the dry do you know?? They've about 65-70% tread left i'd say.

The re070 just look so much better than the re050's though!
