Depends if your going to just put the 2008 up for sale to make up the complete amount of cash your looking for, if so then yeah, take it if your not having much luck shifting the 22b

I would think the 22b is the one, already regarded as a classic and not likely to loose money of kept nice/used occasionally. If you want a daily driver the the STI is probably the one

As much as I like the hatch STI there is no way on earth I would change a 22B for one. The 22B is the ultimate Impreza and it's a true classic just like the Sierra RS500 etc.

I think you are making the right choice keeping it because it sounds like a good example and you would be hard pushed to replace it when you realised you had made a mistake.

Fud, sometimes just sometimes you need a reality slap

I know you like money so think of it this way. The 22B will always have value. In 5 years or so what will the hatch be worth? Fack all that's what.

22B all the way its a proper no brainer.

Fud, if you had decided on the 2008STI I would have done my best to track you down and have you certified as clinically insane.

That 22B you have there is an icon that will never devalue as long as you leep it A1 and given how it is now you always will. It is by far the best looking Scoob ever made and one of the best to drive.... the 2008STI isn't even that great and as for its looks ... LOL .... so glad you are keeping the 22B.

The 22B is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it!! Clearly it has been forsale for a while and no money was offered bar a part exchange plus cash.

Why u say that its been for sale for 2 weeks and i got offered about 10 offers was on e bay with 3 days left last night with 33 bids at £19100 last offer was last night for 24k of here and the lad has the clear funds sure he will back this up.

A 22b no matter what some one offers will always be worth 20k+ no matter what so i think some home work is needed

No sh*t and thanks for stating the blindingly obvious. and by Fuds reply it appears you are wrong on your second statement!

what you clearly fail to recognise/grasp is that these cars are desirable and rare and people are prepared to pay good money for them the market is depressed at the moment, even the classic/desirable car market. Whilst the STI will only plummet in value and looks like every other eurobox a 22B is pretty unique in looks will maintain and maybe even grow in value. It is not all about the money.

The ownership experience is an important factor

So glad you're keeping that immaculate 22b. Would have had it myself if I had the funds. Impreza hatch just doesn't cut it in comparison and never would.

I followed the sheep
22B, iconic hand build Impreza, ok its dated, ok it was never the best "on the road" scoob, or the quickest, but it was and still is IMHO one of the best factory Impreza's ever made (well in the classics anyway, then its THE best impreza ever made )
The MY08 Hatch is a good car let down by a bad engine, Subaru need to do something about it really, its been an issue ever since it came out, they have now improved the handling on the latest ones, but still the crappy pistons in the 2.5 ltr engine?
If it were a JDM 2ltr twin scroll it would tempt me, depending on situation that is, if I could afford both then I would get the JDM, if I had to keep one then it would be the 22B and maybe later on, buy an older blob JDM twin scroll for a bit of fun

Its a hard choice, the newer car is very very capable, more so than the 22B on road, if your doing the miles and only have the one option on a car, then the hatch (just a JDM one )

Yup 22b my vote also if it is a second car.
If you are selling however as said and the figures stack up makes sense out it!

I was the one that bumped the price up to £19,100.00 on E-bay plus i was the person in question that offered the 24k if it was as good in person as it is in the pics.

Sorry I had though with the credit crunch that it might not of been worth as much as that. I clearly no nothing about the 22b other than it was a fantastic car and very expensive when new. I had saw it for sale on ebay and wrongly thought that it was not making your asking price hence you were thinking of a part exchange + plus cash your way. My original statement was supposed to of sayed not enough money was offered bar a part exchange plus cash.

My sincere apologies Mr Fud
