Sounds a familiar story this, our house had loads of stuff in it we didn't want when we moved in. The owners had fcuked off to Spain a few years prior and had been renting it out. As for the garden, we've been there over three years and I took the last lot of stuff (remnants of an old shed) down the tip about six months ago.
We should have tried to get some money out of them for removing all the old cr*p Mind you the whole process had become so drawn out at that stage due to the vendors being pretty much un-contactable most of the time that we were just glad to be in. If we were to have disputed the contract I'd probably still be waiting for the cash today

It had been completed and exchanged 7 weeks before he told Thames Water he had moved in, obvioulsy I have the p/w should TW need it
He's just a p1ss taker end of, strangely I never heard another thing about the 5 items in the loft.
I still have his mobile number and have considered becoming a member of the Thames Water Fraud investigation team for the day

My old mate Mr Patel is still up to his tricks.
I got a final demand from Thames Water for £40. When my tennants moved out they paid up in full. Mr Patel told TW he moved in on Oct 1st hence they flicked me a bill for £40.
I have advised them we exchanged at 14:00 on August 20th and he had his builders in as of that date.
The cheeky B*stard is trying to get me to pay for the water his crew used.
So glad I never went back to take those 5 items out of the loft !!

LOL no
Of the 5 items, 2 small bed side cabinets, and old 70's tent with steel poles and 2 CRT monitors, the CRT's were mine, the tent was there when I moved in and stayed there and the rest belonged to my ex tennants.
I think I documented it in one of my original posts, when I queried why he thought it would take 2 labourers an entire day to clear it I questioned how as it was a few items and he told me he wanted the insulation removed as he was having a new roof put on the house he really believed that was also my responsibility.
I didn't hear any complaints about the two boxes of spare tiles for the bathroom and kitchen though
God loves a tryer or should I say Ganesha, Shiva, Buddha, Vishnu etc etc love a tryer

Maybe you should go round, find some lighter fluid that was with the tent (for bbq's) accidentally spill it when you pick it up, light it and hey presto!! Failing that, just fall through his ceiling and put a claim in
