The ''Wanted'' adds are too easy for folk to get ripped off on if you dont ask for pics.
You can just reply via PM, no one ever sees it.
''I'm looking for an ECU and injectors''
''I have some mate, £100 delivered''
''OK, whats your paypal''
£100 gone.
I have replied to a few wanted ads myself, 4ndy is my most recent customer, to which he has asked for pics and I have supplied but it was after I that I thought, what if he didnt ask for pics and just took my word for it??

Good luck, it isn't all bad...
I once spotted a very rare bargain on here, transfer'd cash into the guys account and waited...
PM did nothing, TXT ignored (?), and eventually he replied that his wife was supposed to have posted the item on a Saturday morning, but she forgot and he didn't know till the following weekend.
I'm glad I didn't "jump the gun", and all ended well !
dunx

Might be a simple explaination then.
Funny how you and the other user that thinks theyve been done have both paid for fuel rails/injectors though?? Plus he's had pics.
I imagine it might be quite difficult for for someone to find exact pics of the exact parts that you have requested at short notice.
Hope they turn up soon.

Mate, I've done it myself.
Theres a poor guy on here waiting for a rear light hockey stick and a door catch that paid for it a couple of weeks ago. I totally forgot all about him!!
Luckily he PM'd me before kicking off about it and its all good now.

Yes but I was breaking a full car. I had 10- 15 parts a day getting picked up while wrapping parts up, replying to emails and PM's while selling parts to wrap and post for the next day.
If he's only sold to you and seller number two, theres no excuse really. Especially not to PM you back if he's been logging on.
Yes its embarrasing saying, ''oh,I forgot' and a pretty lame excuse too but its better than not replying at all.

This is not to say the accused (or any non paying member) is not to be trusted, but the measures put in place so far were done so to try and protect against scams.
Time and time again members are encouraged to do their research and be careful when dealing with non paying members, that's why so far the wanted and for sale areas are only open to paid members. And we have encouraged people not to deal via PMs to get around this. We also give the advice NOT to pay via PP as a gift as you have no comeback. There is only so much we can do in terms of advice, so please in future take it.
Again, this is not to say this guy has ripped the OP off, or accusing all non payers of anything, but we haven't taken the steps so far for nothing. We are trying to help, but no matter what we may do users need to be as careful as they can be too.
I am sorry this has happened and I hope this user comes good and this is resolved, or this is just some sort of mix up.

And I have suggested just that, but unfortunately I'm not the gaffer.

What about if I start a poll asking what users think about this system?

there are too many people scamming via paypal. and car oc's seem to be very popular for ripping people off, i would like to point out there are ways around this...and this guys for sale thread is probably the best example of how things should be advertised.
https://www.scoobynet.com/private-fo...i-package.html
the fact he has included pictures and wrote his username gives you confidence that the person has the item. also a youtube video of it working.
i know that when i come to sell certain items i will be doing the same as this user.
as for not reciving the item, not much you can do, the guy could send you a box with something random in it. then when you try and claim, its your word against his. there is no actual proof he DIDNT put the item in the box, and that you are the one scamming him. (i had this a few times when i was a big seller on ebay and paypal went in favour of the buyer both times)

We've been in touch with NASIOC and have confirmed that the accounts themoneypit and WorkInProgress are from the same person they are complaining about over there (PorscheEater)
There are complaints against both local accounts and given the information kindly provided by NASOIC we're banning both accounts on Scoobynet.
Any person who has been allegedly scammed by this person needs to seek legal redress through their Credit Card companies / Paypal / Police
Could we also take this opportunity to remind people to NOT enter into purchases without making basic checks first.
Using Paypal and sending payment as a 'gift' means you have NO method of having your money refunded. You may as well give it to the next person walking past your house, hoping they'll give it to the right person.
Also, we've put basic barriers in place to stop new posters from selling on Scoobynet but people insist on trying to buy from non-paying members and ignoring our advice. Check who you are buying from first and treat any request for cash / funds with no redress as extremely suspicious.
PLEASE use the RTM function to report For Sale and Wanted posts that are from non-paying members or are posted in the wrong forum.
Finally when posting about alleged scams, please provide evidence or we will be forced to remove the post no matter what the circumstances are. Sorry, but we have a requirement to stop false allegations when they occur.
Thanks all.
