Here are some memorable quote's or tasters!!
Pappas: ...last time you had a feeling I had to kill a guy, and I hate that... It looks bad on my report.
Pappas: Listen you snot-nose little ****, I was takin' shrapnel in Khe Sanh when you were crappin' in your hands and rubbin' it on your face.
Ben Harp: You're a real blue flame special, aren't you, son? Young, dumb and full of come, I know. What I don't know is how you got assigned here. Guess we must just have ourselves an ******* shortage, huh?
Johnny Utah: [quietly] Not so far.
Ben Harp: You know nothing. In fact, you know less than nothing. If you knew that you knew nothing, then that would be something, but you don't.
And the most immortal line EVER...........
Bodhi: If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.

Now I'm going home to watch the movie again......

1) Pulp Fiction - head and shoulders above anything else...... must have seen it over 50 times
2) Predator - my mum was massively protective when it came to my TV viewing as a child. Anything with violence, bad language, guns etc etc was turned off immediately. I saw this first at a mates when i was 14 and was the first film i saw that contained pretty much everything that had been excluded previously, so was a massive winner!
3) Once were warriors - not a great film (and casts a male nurse out of shortland street as the main badass lol) but was the first movie to blow me away. Just kinda sat watching the credits thinking "holy **** - did all that just happen"

I am grateful to have been just the right age to enjoy what was a golden era for movies, the mid 70's through to the 90's. Jaws, Star Wars, Alien, First Blood, Terminator, Predator, Robocop and Bladerunner, and the (mostly) awesome related sequels. Somehow in the mid 90's things went awry, and the sci-fi action adventure movie seemed to lose its way. Movies like Independence Day, Armageddon and such didn't have the same allure as those earlier films, often due to greedy studios watering and dumbing them down to try and hit the bigger teen audience, and ultimately losing out on the longevity and lasting appeal and saleability of their more violent and shocking forebears. In recent years only the LOTR trilogy has been as good as the films I love from my youth.
