Soo far, it's put a smile back on my face and exceeded my expectations. I've been scooby doo'd
Glad to hear u like it, I'm still getting used to having a lot of power under my right foot previous car was a 320d Beamer lol this has about 3 seconds on it 0-60 lol

The grip is what shocked me, in the dry it sticks like glue, in the wet it's a little understeery bit not bad at all .... Enjoy!!

Hi Tony

Sorry to be a pain but I try and keep track of bugeye stuff.......... I've got one myself

putting aside the "normal" Bug STi......... and concentrating on the UK Prodrive Style.

IIRC they sold all 750 UK "Prodrive Style" Sti's within a year. The final figure of 750 I don't think is in doubt but I sort of thought the split was ......

400 Blue
250 Silver
100 Black

Am I wrong in thinking that there are more than 100 "prodrive style" black cars out there ?

Cheers

Well there was actually 4 available colours but I dont know anyone who went for white Silver was special order only and afaik remember it, there was only 500 allocated to the UK, 250 of each, and they all sold quite quickly.
So the ammount of colours really depended on what was ordered, especially if there were special order colours.

White HAS become an in colour, but apart from the MoSport influence, I was happy to go from red/black mica to blue/black mica...

dunx

P.S. I borrowed my bosses Misses old Felicia for 8 weeks till mine arrived, I wouldn't have survived 16 weeks in that rat -trap...

What plans do you have for the car.
I had it on the dyno yesterday, made 275bhp 290lbft, which isn't bad for a standard spec. The dyno guy was shocked at the result, AFR is spot on and no boost issues. Very healthy motor so I'm over the moon with that.

I dont plan to do much to it, I've heard Scoobys can go wrong very quick if you start fiddling too much (I guess it's down to what you do and wh does it). Maybe a panel filter, decat, fuel pump, 1bar actuator and a map. My mate is a well respected mapper in the Evo community, he wants to have a go on a Scooby so we'll give it a go. Should expect to see around 300-320bhp which is plenty for a daily driver

Looking the upgrade the discs and pads once the current ones need replacing. Dont really want to touch the suspension, I like the ride comfort and clearance. Wheels are gonna stay standard for now as well. I've had all big wheels and coilovers before, brilliant for track but kills the bushes and droplinks when used as a daily driver, especially around London!

Before I do anything, I wanna have a look at what others have done so I'm looking forward to Scooby meets, gives me a chance to nose around and ask a few questions. I'll keep an eye out for local meets and hopefully see some of you guys there.

I must add, I was a bit sceptical about the welcome I'd get being an ex Evo owner but it's been a very warm one and I'm looking forward to meeting some of you guys

If your decatting it may be worth looking for a PPP sports cat or getting a sports cat to start with, saves any hassle at MOT time
For the basics you will need an uprated fuel pump on the MY02 STI type UK, a good panel filter, the exhaust will be ok for what your after, look towards www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk or aztec performance for uprated discs/pad combo's (people seem pretty happy with the new ebc blue pads, check out the wheel/tyre/brake section), if your splashing out then a 3 port boost solenoid may come in handy, not exactly expensive, fiestaboy had some prodrive ones for sale, give him a shout to see if he has any left

how much louder will exhaust be with a straight decat pipe?

boost solenoid will go on when mapping. All this is in the pipeline though, dnt plan to do anything any time soon except change the gold wheels. Might just spray the standard wheels.

It will be a little louder as you wont have the same baffle in there that the cat provides, hence go for a sports cat, you wont lose much power, maybe 1 or 2bhp max.

Yeah, unreliable as hell...

With a map by someone with experience on THESE cars, a bolt-on turbo and simple fuelling mods you could see 400+ bhp.

Mine made 340bhp with a map, fuel pump and catted exhaust system upgrade.

I would advise fitting an adjustable rear ARB and drop-links (24mm for a smooth driver), as this transforms the car IMHO.

Enjoy your new toy.
