Spools up a little later than mine. I just love the driveability of mine and I dont want to lose the response it has. So it's good to see what difference cams make and where spool up changes.

From: Slowly rebuilding the kit of bits into a car...
mine is a GT3076 hybrid, with a 0.82 housing it was a 550 bhp turbo suitable for a 2.5.
On mine it spooled at 5800 rpm...
Now have a 0.62 housing on thanks to Andy @ AET-Turbos and it spools at 4000 rpm now.
So a large A/R ratio is good for a large displacement motor, a smaller housing is better for a small displacement motor. BUT the smaller housing will restrict the maximum flow ( = power ) at the top end.
All IMHO.

Drives relatively lag free, but then I have rotated the inlet and shortened the FMIC pipe-work. Not sure how much difference this actually makes but I have it done mainly for aesthetic reason.
No idea on actual power but estimated in the region of 450/450 with the turbo running out of blow. T is a big limiting factor with the heads and bottom end capable of so much more. The good news is that I can do a turbo change to a V or maybe go rotated and should easily cope.
However, I have no plans to do this at the moment as she is a beastie on the road... maybe Im just not man enough....

I have a 2.35 using a ej22t cdb and forged internals. Heads have Supertech valves & retainers, bronze valve guide and Prodrive rally cams. Lots of other supporting mods too but the turbo is a AFP MD32T1T. This is all in a V4 STi Type R.

Would standard sti v4 heads that i have on my original engine be capable of that power?

v4 STi heads, cams, valves etc are all well capable at 450+. To be honest, I'm not really making use of them running just the T. But I took the old 'whilst they're off' approach with the potential to just upgrade the turbo later on.

So maybe for a 2.1 a 0.62 housing would be better suited?
