Bob

I couldn't get it to work either, BUT installed Sn0wbreeze on my 3G and it works fine.

It is a bit convoluted though: You have to let it do stuff with the phone so it leaves it in a frozen state with sn0wbreeze showing, and then use iTunes to upload the ipsw.

I follow this guide to patch the pwnage tool:

http://www.redmondpie.com/jailbreak-...agetool-guide/

and step 6 wont work as I try to copy the bundle file into the location and I just get a no entry sign for the file copy. This is on Hackintosh OSX 10.6.3. No idea why I can't copy the file like it says. Bloody macs
No Entry sign sounds like permission problems, ie; no write access to wherever you're trying to copy it.

Looking at the screenshot, I'd say you have a disk image mounted, looks like the disk is named PwnageTool, and inside which is the app, and you've right clicked on that app, and gone into the Contents/Resources folder and opened the FirmwareBundles folder and you're trying to copy something into there, correct?

If so then that is your problem, it's an app on a read-only disk image, thus you cannot write to it. All you need to do is copy the PwnageTool app to the desktop, then right click on that item, navigate to Contents/Resources/ open up FirmwareBundles and drop whatever it is you need to copy into that folder and it should work.

The classic mac mistake

I have lost count of times I have gone to a clients machine and they complain that firefox/some kind of app they downloaded disappears everytime they log off or shutdown their mac

Because my Iphone 4 is on 4.1, I chose the limera1n jailbreak to test it out.

So far so good.

Now to try it out with some packages and see it handles it okay

I'm having a problem with mobile terminal not launching Seems like it's a known issue. I'm using a 3GS on 4.1, JB'd using limera1n (yes, I did have to use one of those foul windows based things to JB it, a horrible experience )

The only problems I've found so far are apps that I've not updated for a while not being multi-task capable, but that's not an app problem, it's a me problem

Thank you kid sir! Not wishing to be rude, but the url wasn't correct, there's a dot, rather than a slash after the word cydia.

On the subject of good stuff for JB iphones, has anyone tried the wireless sync app yet ? The Wi-Fi sync by Greg Hughes

Bit pricey so wanted to hear what it handles like

Add http://cydia.xsellize.com to your sources and it'll be there. I'll just check if it is that source first

Done that, saw that the mobile terminal is in their sources so sorted that as the original link, like B2z said, just crashes on launch

I still think the best thing about jailbreaking is sbsettings, it's so handy not having to drill through menus to turn bluetooth or wifi on and off etc and also having the power options all there too like reboot. Fantastic add on.
Probably right about the wifi sync, could be a big bag of trouble

SBS settings is great

Sbsetting is the best thing on cydia, toggle to remove background apps is a good one but not 4.1 compatible yet

I downloaded facebreaker cracked too, facetime over 3G
