So what does the £400k odd figure prove then, it seems you already have assets/equity elsewhere to cover it, plus the same again in cash deposit?

It's not analogous to banks letting people over-leverage say 5-6 times salary with 10% deposit.

I used to work with a guy like PSL. Always bragging about how big his house was and how much money he had. Said things like he'd just spent £5k on a lounge carpet because it was 50 foot long and you could only tell where the end of his garden was from the line of tall trees in the distance.

We got his address from the personnel files and paid him a home visit one evening......

You guessed it; a grotty 2 bed semi in a grotty end of town!

Nah, I think Pete is just on the wind up again. You'll notice that an antagonising post is made, left for a few hours and then he comments when enough bite.

After 4 1/2 years I find it funny now and try to leave that big fat worm dangling on the hook alone

I'm fully aware that Pete is a prize winning muppet.

I think the 'Attention *****' post says it all.

The offensive part of his original post was to put a figure up. Why not just say "4 times my salary" or something. As if anyone would lend to someone with one foot in the grave, anyway.

It is certainly not jealosy, by the way, as I'm pretty certain I'm in a better position now than he was at my age.

Well that's a bit small-fry.
Aliens just abducted me, found a working delorean time machine for me, let me use it to get the Euro lotto numbers for last week and buy tickets but I don't think I'll bother picking up the winnings, as I'm 'considerably richer than yaou' Lewis, I don't need proof, I'm far too busy and important to supply that.
In fact, I was also recently offered a loan comparable to the entire worlds monies with zero percent interest for the rest of time, so silly of them

Why the hell am I adding to this thread

And the best part is, he thinks it makes him look good!
A nuclear consultant that posts on car forums for attention, moans like **** when a packet of £2 batteries don't show up after 3 days, very rarely comments on other threads, has the oldest mobile phone in history, can get 50mpg from his scooby.......hmmmm, weirdo?

And Pete, before you reply, all of the above only sticks in my mind due to how much of pleb you make yourself look.

Banks will lend to businesses. They just lent one that I partly own a chunk of money fairly easily. A lot of banks have a problem in that they are arranging credit drawdown facilities but businesses are being risk averse and not taking the money.

They won't lend to crap business, throwing good money after bad, and why should they?

Thanks for the answer Trout, I am the very opposite of a financial expert.

Wonder why is was so difficult for PSL to answer a straight question!
