I need to jump on this band wagon too.
I have been really really ill this year and I need to get back to the gym ( 5 times a week 1hr a time + walks at the weekend if I have time) but the problem has been I've been so ill and still am, I have no physical energy to go to the gym, its hard enough to get up to go to work. If I go to the gym, I'll be destroyed for the rest of the week until I'm a bit better. Need to get a plan going to build up fitness without having to run (long story). I usually use the x trainer and a fast ride on the bikes rather than the treadmill. I do a bit of weights to tone up the bits I'm not so keen on too.
I also have no great control over the hotel food Monday - Friday. I try to pick and choose the best I can, lean meat, steamed veg, salad etc but its hard. Being a lass on my own, I won't go out to eat elsewhere and I don’t fancy walking round the city centre in the dark on my own for the sake of some exercise, when a normal day at work has wiped me out as it is.
Hopefully I'm on the mend now so can get back on the ball as the hotel has a gym and a pool to be used. Might need to build up slowly and do more long walks at weekends to see how much it wears me out.
I had loads of success on weight watchers before I got married (lost 6 stone in a year) but again, with having next to no control over my menu, it's hard to do WW or even go to a meeting. The annoying thing is, I don't eat loads of ****e, we eat pretty sensibly, but our portion sizes could be much reduced, I used to be a chef so I tend to accidentally overcook the amount of rice pasta etc.
I've been really ill twice since 2006 and both times it's set me back and I've put weight on top of the weight I put on before, now I'm determined to shift it all.

I've been into fitness training for 12 years now, basically since I was about 16.
Every week and I do mean 'every week', I exercise 2-3 times for about 30 - 45 mins. I used to do a combination of weights and cardio in the gym, but I very rarely touch the weights now as I prefer to exercise at home. Far cheaper than wasting £50+ a month on a gym membership!![Razz](images/smilies/razz.gif)
Most sessions I go for a 3-4mile run or I will go to a taebo class which is great for all round fitness and stamina. I have been the same weight for about 8 years now and eat whatever I want within reason.
I do the odd 10k road race to give me more motivation to keep fit.

Another one in the same boat
6'0 and just onder thirteen and a half stone
Don't drink or smoke
Breakfast cereal and one slice of toast and tea
Lunch sandwich ,banana and crisps and a yoghert
Supper varies although I eat lots of rice and I normal y have fish and chip takeaway once a week and I love my pint of milk every night
On my feet at work a lot ,don't cycle and on my day off go for a 2 hour walk
Fit enough ,just can't see my feet anymore and it seems to be getting bigger now I'm the magic 45
Not a fan of gyms
Could I do something at home ,get the old bull worker out or do press ups ,curls etc
Any good suggestions

Some people like to do it in public. LOL I mean, they get a buzz of other people's energy in the gym, and it motivates them. Some can do it at home without spending fortune in gyms. Little a bit of self-discipline is required, that's all.
Someone told me about the 5 Tibetian rites for slimming and overall wellbeing. This person came down from size 24 to size 14 in 4 months

Well done mate.
I started working out again after many years off, got out of the habit through injury, but would still go on walks and remained active.
But as the years roll by the weight crept up to 89kilos around 14 1/2 stone i think and at 5'11 was not looking good.
I'm now 75kilos not sure what that is in old money.
I march 6 miles most days can't run my knee plays me up if i do more than a couple of miles so i have the odd jog but nothing drastic now.
I was doing weights every day but i'm now doing one day on and one off as i'm after a little more size.
But god damm do i look good everyone is commenting.![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
The blokes are envious and the women are looking and touching![Norty](images/smilies/norty.gif)
Feels really good to be back in shape and i have more of a swagger than usual, if thats possible.
I think i'm becoming more of an irritating cvnt![Lol1](images/smilies/lol1.gif)
Been down the local mixed martial arts club out here in croatia and suprised a few of the young bucks with what an old man can do
but they are a really good bunch and it's great fun.
Nothing like being tanned and toned, i feel like a god again![Lol1](images/smilies/lol1.gif)

I started a diet about 6 weeks ago..
14St on my 5'5 frame wasnt looking good, and my cholesterol was a bit high![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
I registered on livestrong.org and started tracking what i eat etc..
Ive dropped my calorie intake from approx 2000 to 1054 ... per day, and hit the treadmill every other day
Today i hit 12st 6... i'm aiming for somewhere between 10st 7 to 11st 2
some days are easier than others lol....

Stopped the dieting bit now(need to get rid of a few holiday pounds though).Since my last post,i booked a personal trainer for ten, half hour sessions. He's given me an eating plan which i have stuck to apart from the last two weeks while on holiday. Still doing a bit of cardio at the gym,but mainly weights now. On a training day I have three whey protein shakes and i also use Kre-Alkalyn(creatine).

The one thing that bugs me is the 1048 calorie ceiling
Some days its easy others its hard...
Trying to keep the protien to the right level is nigh on imposible for me lol
I've got the calories, carbs, sodium, cholesterol, sorted, but the protein bit still escapes me most days....over by roughly 10g per day
For me its a two day routine
Day one:
Breakfast - 30g bran flakes semi skimmed 1/2 tsp sugar
Cup of coffee - low fat creamer & 2 2tp sugar![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Mid Morning - Low fat yoghurt
Lunch - Salad (roughly 100g) 2 tsp low fat dressing
Cup of coffee
Dinner - Salad (250g) Tin of Tuna or Mackerel (125g) (not in oil)
Cup of coffee
Midlight snack - Cup of coffee, 1 twin Kit Kat (107C)
Day two:
Breakfast - 30g bran flakes semi skimmed 1/2 tsp sugar
Cup of coffee - low fat creamer & 2 2tp sugar![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Mid Morning - Low fat yoghurt
Lunch - Salad (roughly 100g) 2 tsp low fat dressing
Cup of coffee
Dinner - Count on us meal - max 400 calories
Midlight snack - Cup of coffee, 1 twin Kit Kat (107C)
& every second day i spend 45 minutes on the treadmill - walking & running
Gone from 14st to 12st 6 in about 2 months

I am trying to loose weight but am unable to train or get much exercise until i get the OK from the cardiologist (hopefully beginning of September. I have cut my food intake in the mean time and am taking the kids out swimming, etc during the holidays to get some exercise. I tend to have cereal for breakfast, meal lunchtime and cereal again in the evening. No sweets or crisps, not that i used ot eat much of that anyhow. fortunately one of the side effects of the meds is i feel sick for a fair percentage of the day so food is not top of my agenda.
I have dropped 10kgs in the last 8-10 weeks so happy with that
just another 20kgs to go as i plan to start swimming in the mens/open events when i can finally get back in the pool and put in some lenghts.
