You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself is all I can say - hang your head in shame!!!

Tell these men and women laid beneath these crosses that you cannot be arsed to mark your cross in a box once every 4 years

You want Pete to be 'unbiased' in his assessments, but you don't seem to want to demonstrate any balance on political matters yourself. I don't think I've ever read a single comment on any issue where you actually supported anything the previous government did, let alone at least acknowledged the fact that some descions are tough, and rarely black and white in there nature, added to that there's all the 'Billy Liar' nonsense which is actually purile and way beneath you!

Anyway you asked

With all due respect I would imagine a book entitled 'Gordon is a Moron' is hardly the most unbiased view of the man. LOL!

If I was the author I would be embarrassed at that title as it makes him (the author) sound like a complete ******** himself frankly.

What the hell have you done labour

Few years of excitement for everyone (or brilliant growth as some call it) and now it has to be rectified.

What a mess....still think houses need to drop another 25% too to try and meet wages that aren't going up

The bit I love about all these threads is how growth was "ours" but the debt and decline was "the worlds"

If Nu labia had NOT borrowed like a chav with a £10K credit card, then we wouldn`t be in such a mess. Its their assumption Brown had "beaten" boom and bust, meant they bet on the rises progressing. This betting on the bubble getting bigger, has now shafted us as the bubble popped. And a mature government puts aside money for a rainy day, Nu Labia didn`t just like a Junkie on Giro day, it went up in smoke.

No mate I don't need any quotes, I am well aware of the things that politicians get up to. My point is that using a book entitled 'Gordon is a Moron' as a counter argument to someone's blinkered attitude is hypocritical as there is no way that book is written from a neutral standpoint. You share the author's bias hence you think it's a wonderful book.

As for me I think what Blair and Brown got up to is despicable, but then I also think Thatcher was as bad so I guess I am just a little more balanced than most in that I fully believe all policitians are greedy self serving pocket lining pigs!!!

i fully agree with you they are all legalized thieves snouts in trough . thats why i think its a waste of time voting for any of them . they ar all there for one reason alone and thats to feather thier nest ready for retirement . bit like all the fat cat buisness men/women to be honest . the head man of the company i work for gets £485000.000 per year now someone please tell me honestly who the hell actually earns that . they just surround themselves with lackies who take the blame and the boot when the **** hits the fan . this country will remain a ****hole untill some sort of wages equalibrium is brought in and immigration and benefits system is changed for the better . as for blair i can only hope that in a few years he is brought to right for what he is a war criminal . him and bush started a illigal war and thats why this country has such a terrorist problem which is also costing the taxpayer billions (end of rant , steps off soapbox lol)

Anyway ... nearly Wednesday, D Day, whip your pants down day .........

This is where you who voted Tory get to find out that I was talking sense all along - and you will come crying on here that the Tories have taken your job, your house, your money and your future ..... but, rest assured, as Cameron said - we are all in it together ....

As the Tory Millionaires laugh at the stupid who voted them into power ............

It still remains that an author who titles a book 'Gordon is a Moron' does himself no favours .... he is clearly either a kiddie under 30 years old or an idiot - in both cases he is ill prepared to form an opinion.

I, on the other hand, have seen governments come and go - I have been bankrupt, destitute and wealthy, I have seen, I have learned, I have built up an educated opinion of the world .... something you can only achieve after many, many, many decades on this planet with your eyes open. You seem to be closing yours, and at such a young age - which is a real shame.

Wrong as usual - the uk entered the recession with a large budget deficit. The economy was in balance when Labour came to power (the Tories having had to do their usual reining in of previous Labour excesses). The downturn was linked to collateralised debt from the US and elsewhere (here as well), but it was the trigger rather than the cause, as the global economy was becoming overheated anyway. For those that haven't got it yet (and I include the BBC on this - they got it wrong again on 5 live one morning this week) a deficit is the difference between your income and your expenditure. Even getting rid of the deficit doesn't begin to address the underlying debt. So yes, Labour did get carried away, especially in the last 3 year years up to the recession, and spent far more than was coming in than taxes at an accelerating rate. I'm too tired to hunt down the graphs tonight, but we need to get the economy back in balance - i.e. spend within our means.

It drives me mad that people blame the Tories in this instance - they're being clumsy about how they do it, but it needs doing. It drives me even madder when I hear union reps moaning about pay freezes and the like - it's what we in the private sector have (rightly) had for several years. What's the difference?

Tomorrow will be interesting.

Gordo
