If a Muslim, or anyone else moaned at me because they could smell bacon coming from my extractor, I would tell them to **** right off and get a life.
This country is in a very bad ****ing way, really very sad, ****ing ban fans, what ever next ban air as it offends creatures that live under the sea!

To be fair, I've always had you down as a good guy, DCI, but I really feel that making spurious accusations stiffle conversations that are important. Why should Islam be immune from criticism? How can it be fair to accuse me of
bigotry simply because I have the courage to broach a taboo subject. The bacon thing is silly, I've already stated as much, but the conversation branched off from that on to something much more fundamental. Again, I assert that your comment above is unfair, inaccurate and, indeed, ungentlemanly.

This is unfair. I am not anti-Muslim, I am pro-Liberal Democracy and Islamist Ideology (should you care to familiarise yourself with it) is in direct opposition. It's totalitarian and, with the exception of Turkey, supports theocractic states where its bonded subjects are not afforded freedom of conscience or expression. I am a secular humanist, I wear my heart on my sleeve and petty slanders by either you or f1_fan will not suppress that.

It's just a tactic to avoid debate.

This is SN NSR not the Cambridge University Debating Society... as such people come in here to have a laugh as well as serious debate and in the case of DCI you have to admit... he makes you laugh.

I understand the tactic but cannot fathom the motive. Why engage, try to derail the debate and contribute nothing of substance? What's the M.O?Completely baffling! Take the Turkey issue, on which I'm undecided, f1_man barges in, shouts a bit, accuses you and me of bigotry, picks me up on an iPhone autospell induced typo and then declares the argument over. It just seems completely obtuse and unproductive. I'm sure he was doing the same with other users on the Stephen Hawking thread, I'll have a look now.

What is interesting is that both you and your chum seem to jump on that bandwagon as an attack on me all too easly which says a lot in itself.

Not at all, but when that debate is repeatedly brought up on one thread after another in increasingly ludicrous ways, when you both use lots of big words yet spell basic ones wrong, when you turn a thread about disabled parking spaces into a dig about Muslims using prayer rooms, when the two of you seem to post in a Mr Cholmondley-Warner and Grayson style ..... I think you can hardly be surprised when others think you have an agenda and you get a bit of fun poked at you.

While I think you have some genuine interest in the subject of how Islam can or can't fit in with Western society I also think you and your friend are enjoying the sport of stirinng up a hornet's nest in NSR particulalrly with people less intelligent than yourselves.
You two have been the prime contributors to at least half a dozen threads in the last week all eventually discussing the same issue. Doubtless some are legitimate, but the 'cafe bacon smell' one was no more than an excuse to bring up the same subject again.
And surely you have to admit that turning a thread about disabled parking spaces into a discussion about the provision of prayer rooms and hiow Muslims use them is not only a work of genius, but also bordeline obsessive subject matter wise.
I genuinely don't think you are bigots per se, but I think you enjoy your 'sport' a little too much. Just my opinion and I mean no offence by it, but as I said the other side of the coin is that this is NSR and not the most serious place on the Internet so I think you have to expect a little bit of gentle ribbing from the likes of DCI and others as you seem to be taking yourselves a little too seriously.
Peace be with you

I personally think anyone who has a religous belief will always hate the other religions, unafortunately religions tends to spread hate and cause wars as history has shown.

It amazes me that people like you come on here and make such sweepingly inaccurate statements

Well that clears that up, thank you for your candour. A couple of points of order if you don't mind. First, whilst we clearly share similar views and understand the subject, TDW and I aren't lovers. Not yet, anyway. As such, it'd be great if you could address me and not 'the two of us'. The view I hold is consistent with freethinking, secular humanists across the planet. I have no intention of dumbing down how I express these views and won't moderate them simply to avoid 'stirring up a hornet's nest'. To suggest that I would do that intentionally is unfair.
I made no contribution to the 'parking space' thread. I ignored it on the grounds that it couldn't possibly turn Islamacentric. As you say, an act of genius to swing it that way, although Dingdongler takes the credit and not Mr de Wonderful.
The Hawking thread had over 10k views and others were and are into four figures. The subject's contentious, topical and divisive but it's not going away. There's more than enough space in NSR for this discussion and we have a team of sensible moderators to, well, moderate it. It'd be great if you could calm the hornets using sensible, considered and persuasive counter arguments which furthered the debate and helped the, and I quote, "less intelligent", to see why I and others like me are wrong.
Islam mandates thought control, let's not let that happen in NSR.
