Did you watch it twice, Hysteria? 
I agree. She needs to come out of her "victim" state. Saying that, Piers's set-up and interview style intends to get the "victim" and the vulnerable side out of people. In general, Cheryl's personality is such that she has no control over her waterworks even with her XFactor contestents in action, anyway LOL

This kind of show is like X Factor, all the people watchin it and believe it are like seals, x factor,simon says the right words and the audience turn into a gang of seals that have been chucked a few fish and clap/smack their fins together for some more,making the same noises as seals too.
