He would be in my top five though, without a doubt. You can't ignore how quick that kid is.
A bit like Vettel, super quick but a little bit unreliable. In two years time I can see those two fighting it out with Alonso and Kubica.

The Ferrari car is kinder to its tyres than the McLaren - that has been the same all season so comparing Alonso to Hamilton in that respect is just biased nonsense. The Ferrari is also currently a much better car than the McLaren so not much surprise that Alonso is faster.

The only way you will really know is to put Alonso and Hamilton in the same team...... oh yes they did that and look how that turned out.

Oh and while no driver may be sqeakly clean none of them have scraped the bottom of the moral fibre barrel like Alonso
I wasn't talking about Button
I was only talking about Hamilton being terrible under pressure and not very smooth as a driver

You are the one bringing Button into it.

Thats what I've been trying to tell F1_fan - but he's got the blinkers on

Give Hamilton another couple of years to settle and without doubt he'll be good.

See you in two years F1_fan

How do you know that?
F1 Fan hates Alonso

Urban hates Hamilton

You two are never going to agree, so why don't you agree to disagree.

It's called 'sport' and believe it or not (contray to what Peter Sauber thinks) people have their favourites as well as their anti-christ's!

Both driver's are fantastic natural talents and didn't get to where they are by being crap and making lots of mistakes. Hamiltons rise to F1 was far more impressive than Alonso's for example. They are both still amazing driver's and think that anyone that questions either of their loyalties has no idea.

Sigh! OK one more time to see if you can get it. fat chance but here goes.

Button has a reputation for being kind to his tyres.
YOU are saying Hamilton is not.
They are in the same car so it's a relevant comparison.
Button's tyres have been in a worse state than Hamilton's more times than not this year therefore ether both Button and Hamilton are hard on their tyres or Hamilton is smoother than YOU have led us to believe

I know your agenda dictates you don't want to, accept this argument, but if you still say 'I don't know why you are bringing Button into it' then I can only conclude you are hard of thinking... mind you you did buy a hatch so who knows

Hamilton

Hamilton wins 3 car championships prior to getting into F1 compared to Alonso's 1.
Hamilton didn't have to prove himself as a test driver first either.
Alonso also failed to get a Mclaren contract when he was 12 as well!

OMG that is an absolutely terrible bio

I'm trying to find info on both but cant get anything decent, Hamilton had a silver spoon in his mouth his whole life, best karts, best mechanics, best teams its unfair to say its 'far more impressive'

If you have f1 2010 (the game) look at the bio on there, both are a good read and much better than those links

Point accepted and it underlines what I said. Alonso was a better driver than his results showed. Point being is that you can never really tell how good a driver is until you pair them with someone his is a proven quantity. Hence why Hamilton is a great driver as he beat Alonso a number of times in 2007 in the same car, in his first year. Silver spoon or not, he is proven and he is fast.

Why is there hatred towards Hamilton or the 'black boy' as some seem to have preferred calling him? I can see plenty of reason why people may hate Alonso as has been discussed already but not much other than silly smilies enables me to understand why there is hatred towards Hamilton.

Hamilton's attitude was dire last season imo. Came accross as a spoilt brat and as such, i wanted him no where near the F1 title. This season he has matured and comes accross more of an individual as opposed to a Mclaren glove puppet. I've always been very pro Button but his inability to drive a "less than perfect car" is annoying. I guess Hamilton is the one i prefer now as his passion for the "race" is obvious.
Schuey has always been my fave but i just can't help feeling that next season will be not too dis-similar to this one. Give him 3-4 years to develop the car/team to suit him and the package might have all the right elements to be a serious title contender, but lets face it - he ain't gonna be there that long

OK, lets say 'Tinted fellow' instead 'Black boy' then

I don't have a hatred of him per say
Personally I don't/didn't like him because of his 'attitude' and being a bit two faced in the past
But......Thats getting a lot better now I think
Without question he's a good driver

Can't understand why you mention an "attitude". I don't ever remember any evidence of anything like that with him. He will describe an incident without getting wound up about it and even with Alonso's behaviour at Mclaren he made no significant comments about that. He tells it as he sees it without any particular side at all.

He is a very capable press on driver and freely admits to his mistakes too.

What were you trying to prove by calling him a "black boy"? What was your point in mentioning that?

Attitude.
Clearly "others" have the same opinion Les - something you just don't see for whatever reason.

I never said he wasn't a capable driver, he's just got a bit to learn still.
But another year or so will probably see him there or there abouts.

Anyway........

Of course we are. Yes we shall see how good he is as you say, may not take that long as long as he gets a car as good as the opposition. The Mclaren disadvantage is just a bit too much at the moment.

Les, we already know how good he is. Look at Fuji 2007, one of the wettest races ever and Hamilton drives to a brilliant victory while his 2 time WC team mate bins it into the wall. That race alone showed us everything we need to know about Lewis Hamilton.

As for urban calling him black boy, could be worse... a certain other person calls him the n word in his SMS messages.
