In fairness they have improved as time has gone on. Some of the early cars were truly shocking, for example the Capri. Mike bought it from some guy who worked in an autoparts store, the sort of place chavs hang around on a Saturday discussing the best colour neons to fit to the underside of their Saxos.
Old China decided to paint the front wings with spray cans and then was stumped as to why they didn't match......... They seem to put a lot more work and money into it now and makes for light entertainment.

dont see how they bodged that 205, looked superb when it was finished, did a lot of work on it, cambelt and water pump, new trim bumpers lights etc, returned to standard, one of my favourite episodes actually, and the 944 turbo they turned into a track car. easy watching.

It has to be an ex Snetters car, Prodrive alloys, STi spoiler, STi head lights etc.
Looked more like an STi than a WRX from the outside.

Just watched the Land Rover one...
The car looked good...BUT
They made **** all profit becuause he knows **** all about cars..
He bought new lamp surrounds and grill then slammed them on the car when he went to Edd's workshop...
When he met the woman at the Land Rover specialists he whacked her on the arm like you would to an 18 stone builder...
He took all the credit for the car (as he always does)...something which even in normal life situations pisses me off so much...
And that's only what springs to mind.

Well watched the 205 one, looks like there was a lot of work they didn't show, swear that it had some paint, also don't see how that smoke was the gear linkage, nothing was hanging down under the car. It is proper car crash tv, counting the amount of times they get stuff wrong

I've always been a big fan of the wheeler dealer series right from the early days from that SJ that poor edd worked his nuts off to get looking decent then realising it needed about 4 days worth of welding and they had to sell it without an mot to a farm boy....lol
They have done some real shockers in the past also along with some good ones to balance things out. It always amazes me how they ever make any profit especialy as edd's labour costs are never in the price, I wish I had his spare time.....lol
Mike has been around a bit now, anyone remember that cheesy deals on wheels series where the public had there 10 mins of fame, some right shockers in that series aswel...lol
Always found Mike 'Cheers Fella' Brewer to be alright, a proper modern day arthur daley, and his battle machines programme is very good, fair play to the chap some excellent real life scary footage.
Tonights Scooby though was a bit of a disapointment, I understand they wanted it to stand out a bit come resale time but those stripes....oh dear
edd was right about the clutch being a pig, I did mine last saturday on my blobeye and it wasnt the nicest clutch I've ever changed.

I remember deals on wheels, that one with an old maroon citreon bx, or was it a zx being sold for like 200 quid years and years ago, it was an absolute shed

Also that one where he bought the guy a holiday to turkey instead of giving him cash for the car haha wtf.

I never saw the one they were working on as it was in the shop at the time (those viper stripes look hideous - I haven't watched the full episode yet), but they did ask me to recommend a mapper, at which point I steered them in JGM's direction.
Mike Brewer didn't drive it though (just as well - I've been led to believe he's a bit of a psycho behind the wheel).

Deals on Wheels is classic. My brother has an episode saved on his Sky + box where some moron rags his Jag e-type in London and the bonnet has not been closed right and it pops up mid acceleration
Then he tries to be Mr Cool when negotiating with the buyer, the poor lad trying to buy the car struggles not to laugh!

why spend all that money on those stupid stripes? Surely itd been better spent on doing away with the second cat after the downpipe and maybe have gotten a decent gain after the mapping.

I would image Mike Brewer probably killed the clutch for a second time, the way he was launching it, and if thats not dead, the handbrake certainly is, I counted three times where there car hadnt actually stopped and heard the handbrake get wrenched up ![Lol1](images/smilies/lol1.gif)
