I'm looking for Scooby at the minute, I think I will try and buy myself a signature 'Mike Brewar Big Hand' that I can 'Hold out fella' to secure the deal with a 'Bag of sand' off the asking

I'm surprised the buyer didn't laugh his **** off and knock another couple of quid off for the cost of his labour to take them stripes off.

I'm also surprised the bloke who put them on didn't have his face blurred out to avoid any shame

My previous car was a Pug 205 GTi. One forum I (still) go on has banned anyone from even mentioning this programme due to the outright bodge job they did on the GTi they had.

I'm not looking forward to the WRX programme at all......................But I will watch it.
Was it the 205gtidrivers forum per chance?? If so what's your handle as I had a 205 GTi from 2008 till earlier this year.

I like wheeler dealers but didn't care for the stripes on the scoob, money would have been better spent on a decent down pipe with sports cat, good easy watching all the same.
met mike in 1999 at ford fair, he is actually a nice guy, unlike clarkson who I met at the ring a few years ago doing his 10 min lap in the jag programme, a right bellend.

Have you noticed nearly every car they do on Wheeler dealers gets fitted with new tyres and in most cases new discs and pads, they hardly ever mention that they have been fitted and don't add them to the final costs.

Wonder if this actually sold to a real person, or one of the production team pretending like they normally do when they cant shift them ?

Other thing, how ropey was the dealer he bought it from - was quite happy to stick a car on the forecourt he knew needed a new clutch in 10 miles time and a rotted exhaust, which for any unknowing punter buying it would have been a major expense

I can assure you it wasn't any of the production team (I met them!) - it was just some poor guy who evidently had no visual taste.

Personally if I'd bought that car, and watched the subsequent video of the episode I'd have flogged it straight on - I've never seen calipers so f**ked as the ones Ed took off the car - not a good indication of the condition of the rest of the car!

Same handle as here.

Always use the same name as I can't be bothered to change it.

Thought the car looked cack in the end, the stripes destroyed it.
Anyone notice the front seats, they looked like sport seats not WRX, or did early bug eye models have seperate headrests?

Edit; incidentally, I bought my WRX off of the bloke that sold them the Quattro in a previous episode. He was a muppet.

Early UK WRX had those seats, these were the only ones that had side airbags at the time.

Thing that gets me about the programme is they always only make a few hundred quid on each car but never factor in the cost of Edd's labour. Do the maths with that on and every car would make a lose. Not exactly a great wheeler dealer

Didn't know that, only seen them with built in headrests.

They never factor in the cost of advertising either, that probably costs them £50-£100 extra.

After watching it, all I can say is that he got that bugeye VERY cheap to start with ! Lots of the facts were wrong, didn't even decat any of the pipes, and why spend so much on the brakes and wheels?!

He clearly knew very little about the car mate.
Let's face it, he bought a bit of a knackered car, changed the visuals and sold it on. Clearly got seen off on the clutch too lol.
Their research team are actually only given a very limited time to get hold of the car, parts etc - the myth that Mike does is all himself is utter bollocks - the production team do probably 90% of it for him.

You've just got to accept it for what it is, a run of the mill car TV show, just like Top Gear or Fifth Gear, where the presenters have limited knowledge of cars and often wing it on the understanding that 90% of the public won't know any better!

After all, you can get 30mpg out of a WRX you know...

Just watched it, what nonsense. Would you bother paying to remap your car to get to 245 bhp? My car reached 289.1bhp with remap though full decat which suppose they couldn't do. Hard to believe that was a genuine buyer with so many better specced cars out there.

No one has mentioned the mapper have they? Part of the logo was blurred out on the guys t-shirt, the first part said "Power". All I could think of is Power Engineering.

It was Paramount Performance in Slough, pretty sure anyway. I looked into it at the time and this name sticks in my head.
