Don't Wetherspoons claim to sell more coffee than Starbucks in the UK ? Not exactly hard, as Starbucks don't sell coffee, just flavourless warm milk sprinkled with dust

If it meant he didnt have to leave the house on a winters night, he'd get my coat off the hook, wrap me up in a scarf and push me out the door and tell me to be on my way.

I don't think he was being maliciously racist, there was even a thread about the same thing with the same title.

You could report the post?

Out of interest, does all the references to Muslims offend you?

That we have a sense of humour, and not one that's stuck up its own politically correct eco-mentallist tofu sandal wearing multi-cultural ****.

Think you're a bit too easily offended to be lurking in NSR.

It tells you that we read & write things in context. ****** was the name of the dog - it simply highlights that attitudes change over time and there have been some insightful discussions about the name being edited out of later broadcasts of the Dambusters film.

It also tells you that you should read the entire thread, a trick I learnt when reading controversial or eye grabbing headlines was to the read the LAST paragraph of the story first - this is where the cold facts (if available) are usually hidden. This is because most people are too lazy to read to the smaller typefaces.

Absolutely correct, Kieran. Also refreshing to see mods not feeling 'obliged' to close a thread or similar, because of something taken entirely out of context. I'm also pretty certain that any thread would be immediately (and correctly) vaped if there was any racist undertone.

You have probably got the wrong idea. ****** was the name of a dog which which belonged to Guy Gibson who led the attack on the Dams in Germany in WW2. That was many years ago of course when the use of that name carried no racist overtones.

I can't answer for those who have been rude of course.

I have a new question for all you locallers!

Harewood House....

Im going to a function thing there next week but what I need to know is, is there many steps / stairs inside and do they have carpet on them or are they stone?

Do you have to cross gravel between car park and entrance?

I've been trying to ring them all day but had no answer and couldnt find anyone at work that's been before.

Had a look on the website / google images but it would be nice to have a proper answer from someone thats been.

Cheers

To answer your question. There are lots of loose stones outside. I've not been inside.
