I know SN needs adverts to keep the site running, but surely for the sake of a few weeks, Cobra Sports advert could be made a bit smaller to allow for a bigger SN Christmas banner

It isnt always cobra sports, and besides why should advertisers have to redo their adverts? some of them are flash and they'd look pretty bad compressed.

Hey Shaun, I'm just saying it as I saw it back then There were occasions when we didn't even get a christmas logo. And let it be known, I was there with the rest of the usual bunch moaning about it too (until I got bored and found something else to monn about). At a guess, you lot had alot more control on getting things done than we currently do (well, thats my excuse). I'm not a professional artisté, therefore anything I do to try and get the ball rolling will always be far from your high expectations. Still, it got a reaction I suppose. I did create a sensible version, but it looked boring (and would still be publically chastised regardless)
In the end of the day, all Lisa is trying to do is get a Christmas logo up and running in time for crimbo, as we didn't get one last year. And good on her for trying; She even sparked me into pulling my finger out to "help" (ahem ). Shes the one rallying around trying to get something done, and she deserves alot more credit and appreciation from users for it IMO.
I actually had to install photoshop/imageready to do my attempts - my copy is version 7.0 (dated 2002); Its that old, I didn't even know if it would work on a x64 operating system! Sadly (for you lot) it worked perfectly.

Well I thought it was a good idea, shame others so critical of the one currently up didnt have a go too!
Well done Ali for having a go, far more than others managed

Robb's great when he's around, but he's often managing other stuff outside of SN to give us his undivided attention. He does get stuff done though, for example I think the double posts have finally stopped. Well at least I think they've stopped: nobody has moaned about it for a while and I haven't had a double post for ages.

Isn't that the problem though? That there isn't an Admin around these days to get things done? In my opinion they should give you Mods more Admin power so you can get things done rather than wait around for an Admin to show up

I'm guessing here, as to be honest, I don't know how it works over there. But say if I was given powers to change the whole structure of the website; Logos, banner sizes, the lot. Imagine the mess I could cause if I screwed it up? I think its best to keep those access rights for the people who know what they are doing.

In theory this is the way it should be; Users report to mods, mods report to admin, admin report to whatever IB staff is relevent for the task. So say if something requires an IB tecchy to implement, then it takes control out of our hands; I suppose its down to time differences between the UK/US (or Canada for Robb) and work loads on other forums, what has more priority, who is assigned to do what, and when.

RE giving you Admin powers? Why not? It'd be a laugh to watxh you screw it up a bit
But surely one of you active Mods can change an Logo/Banner and Icons etc etc??? It's a piece of ****.

Dont you think that way is a bit crap? You go back to the days Simon and Shaun ran the place, they were here every day and things being done, no reporting to Admin, no waiting. Even when Stu took over as webby things were being done because he was around, when he couldn't be around as much he made Scoobychick Admin to help out. Now she's stuck in the snow in Scotland

Perhaps we do need more mods with admin powers, but that isn't up to us unfortunately, and whatever they do, they don't want to give them to me or things really would go **** up.
