i've got a blob wrx too. so far i've got green panel filter, walbro fuel pump, 3'' cat back and a remap, should be about 265bhp (same as sti). the sti with these mod's about 300bhp

i've just got a de cat downpipe and up pipe (from sti), exhaust wrap, vf35 turbo and might get pinks. then a remap. should get about 310bhp. the sti with these mods about 360bhp

any more bhp will need internals upgraded, sti's are good for up to 450bhp
i think you'll struggle to get more than 350bhp (will need FMIC, front mount inter cooler)
(figures might be more or less)

other ways to make it faster- lose weight from car, improve brakes, anti roll bars, better tyres, light weight alloys, run on meth,

lol

don't be downhearted, for about £1k you should be able to get 300bhp. it will be alot more driveable and a fast car

depends how much bhp you want. i'm happy with mine, didn't want massive bhp, just a quick car.

you could get a JDM sti (jap domestic market) 300ish bhp
buy one tuned to 400bhp
or a litchfield type 25, 425ish bhp

Going from the original post i recently asked the same question to the man himself (Bob Rawle) and this was his reply. I have a 2003 wrx PPP btw, Am thinking whether to do the below and get 360bhp from my blob or get STI Bugeye or Classic with some good bhp????.

Hope this helps .

HI Daniel, thanks for your mail, it would be prudent to change the fuel pump
given you are looking to go beyond the capability of the std turbo. Fully
decatted on V Power or Tesco Momentum fuel, uprated panel filter, fuel pump and
remap would see it do circa 280 bhp. To get more you would have to change turbo
and injectors, ideally replace your std intercooler for the STi top mount
complete with scoop and under bonnet tray.

To step up then I would suggest you consider the SC380 billet turbo from Scooby
Clinic, 650cc injectors plus the intercooler upgrade, that would see you up to
circa 360 bhp, your car uses tumble valves and these will restrict the
performance mod for mod to a lower level than would be achieved in an Sti.

the HKS induction kit is not a good one and I recommend you remove and replace
it, the std airbox is more than good enough if staying with the std turbo, if
you do go bigger then a K & N based induction is the thing to fit (not the
Typhoon system though as thats too restrictive). Roger Clark make a good
induction for this car.

Obviously the mapping brings it all together and the cost for that is normally
£450 plus vat (total then £528.75), given your distance I would offset some of
your travel cost and reduce the total amount to £500.

best regards

bob
