That one with the window tints, when the copper sitting in the car said he would personally do him for it, and make it so the car had to have an MOT before it was allowed back on the road.
Can they do that ?
Do they not need to use the metre things to test how much light is able to penetrate the window.
Seemed like it was just came down to their own decision.

When it comes to things like fatals, we definitely need them. I certainly wouldn't want to be left with it.
As for being done for 32 in a 30, I'd like someone to say they've been prosecuted for it.
There are guidelines:
30-39 - a warning
40-49 - a ticket
50+ - a report case
(based on human and not camera involvement!
)

I hear that and the ACPO guidance a lot but also hear a lot of people getting prosecuted for just over a posted limit.
As an aside, there is also a bloke in my office who reckons you can't get done slowing down into a limit (i.e. coasting from 45ish down to 30 past the sign). He says his wife went to court and was told that you had so much time to slow down! He also reckons he owned a 2L Ford Racing Puma - one of the prototypes that ford only sold on the quiet

Very clever editing by Channel 4 to make them look like even bigger fools than they are. Loved the bit they edited which showed the copper eating his KFC, they made him look a right mong

Hi mate,
Sorry, maybe I should've said I'm Scotland.
You guys must have it harsh down there!![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
Whenever I've been doing speed checks (not traffic), that was what we went with. Maybe just a local divisional thing.
We run on ACPO(S) and not ACPO.
Spoke with a traffic mate and he said, 'No way was someone done doing 32 in a 30....in a 20 maybe. Would be 10%+2mph. Different guidelines for cameras'.
Like I said, you must have it harsh down there, especially the guy alcazar knows because even the English ACPO guidelines say that in a 30 zone, for a ticket it would be 35mph.....although if it was at a school etc, it could be 31/32.
I imagine the offending car would have to have an indicated speed of a bit for that based on the differences with speedos etc.
Like I said, we have guidelines...not set in stone but up here it's unlikely our Procurator Fiscal would take it on.
My local one won't even take on a Section 3 (careless driving) unless there are injuries!

The last half was pretty sobering actually. You can see why they are so **** sometimes over speeding or the likes whej they stop people .... I think I would be if I had to go and scrape bodies off the roads and tell their loved ones they had died at the hands of careless driving.
THIS!
Me and the missus were watching, and she commentated that the ginger one was a right old knobber, but my point was that he has probably turned out that way because of all the bad stuff he has had to deal with.
I know in the job i do now, i see an extraordinary amount of negligence with people driving, and it pisses me off, even though i dont have to deal with the dead bodies afterwords.
Every single day i see people waffling into mobiles, not knowing how to operate the controls of their cars, leaving auto cars in gear and releasing the brakes, not paying attention, its mind boggling.
The roundabout outside of work was recently repainted, and you have to be in the righthand lane to go straight over, the left lane is now a filter type lane direct into Asda, you should hear the car horns blaring away every single day as people just daze about however they feel.

Less than 30% of light=Instant Prohibition
Between 30% and 45%= 14 Day Rectification Notice (Delayed Prohibition)
And 45% to 55%= Advisory Notice
Well yes to a degree, they can use their discression. As you saw, both coppers had different views on how it should of been delt with. The lad was just lucky he didn't get the Haribo muncher.

Dealing with dead bodies is part and parcel of the job, and doesn't effect them (after a while), but dealing with the emotions of the relatives gets to him every time.
Can't be nice at all.

Lets not get misled by saying, "I couldn't do that job" .... thing is, they can and do!!
They would say they couldn't do my job, and I can - each to their own.
No excuse for being complete ****-heads ... and that's exactly how they came across!!

I can't see how your comments are valid or of any worth at all.
Btw, anyone can sit in front of a pc copying and pasteing cr@ppy links from you tube and alike.

I think you only started the thread to enable yourself to have a good whine.

Do they not need to use the metre things to test how much light is able to penetrate the window.
Seemed like it was just came down to their own decision.

I hate coppers like the ginger one, they have to lord it about all authoratitve while hiding behind a uniform to make up for the fact they are insignificant little ******* with no personal life whatsoever and get ignored whenever they arent in uniform, hence the hitler mad power trip when in uniform.
No one would miss him if he died today!

As I undersatnd it, Acpo can and do issues guidlines over speeding bookings, but an individual force does not have to follow them. So you can get done for just over the limit if they feel like it.
You have to be at the speed limit as you enter it and all the time you are in it.
