I used to collect the Citadel Miniture range (Samurai etc made from lead). Never used to play but really enjoyed painting them. Wonder if the parents kept them.

This threads made me rethink about starting again.

I remember having both Hero Quest & Space Crusade games as a kid and can't ever recall actually playing a proper game of either of them. Couldn't get anyone else to concentrate to understand the rules etc.
Probably still have it at my parents house, although I do remember 'painting' some of the figures with OHP pens for that awesome metallic look

Used to paint all of the minatures, not just the warhammer stuff, was quite into all that stuff as a kid back in the late eighties early nineties. Got quite good if I say so myself and spent loads on all the gear, sure it's all knocking about somewhere still

Funnily enough I only just got round to taking the board pieces out of the sprues and having a game. Unfortunately the only people I've got to game with is the wife and 9 year old daughter. Neither of which are particularly interested but they did their best to humour the geek of the household.

I thought it would be easier for them to play the 'stealers as they aren't as complicated. However, they couldn't get round the fact that you could kill a dozen 'stealers to get 1 marine. You only have 5 marines and like a 100 'stealers. You're going to lose a few on the way.

what i do know is this

the shop in leeds smells or **** and BO when you pass it thats all you need to know, i play world of warcraft and back in the day i did dome some final fantasy books, but this stuff is a whole new level of lardy geeky monky spankers
