To the OP a hawkeye Jdm sti would get my vote, exhaust and remap and hey presto t20 power and fit a set of coilovers and whiteline goodies and you have a t20/t25 handling pack to, albeit no build number or badges but I could live without that. Even better if you could find the funds for a spec c, jdm sti lumps are meant to be able to run so high power on STD internals so slap on one of the new litcho's turbos and you will have a seriously capable road / weekend track toy
1 Hawk jdm sti not as good as 2 right? whats the dif?
2 Hawk jdm sti spec c better then 1 yes, but depends on budget (to striped out for me i think)
cheers

Ball bearing turbo VF36
Lightweight roof panel
Aluminum boot lid
Reinforced front suspension turrets and A pillar to frame
Roof vent
12L IC spray tank
Less insulation
All black interior
Mechanical rear LSD
Radiator with transmission cooler
Engine oil cooler
Anti surge fuel pump
No boot trim
No assist grip
No passenger sun visor
No HID
No headlight washers
No boot release
No side skirts
All of which adds up to 70kg savings from a JDM STI.

For the engine side of things my S202 was putting out 348bhp with just an Ecutek remap, uprated panel filter and a sports cat exhaust system. My Spec C is putting out 366bhp with an uprated turbo actuator, 3 port boost solenoid, a Milltek sports cat exhaust system plus a few other tweaks.
If I were considering a track car it would be around an S202 with an uprated turbo, ported headers, sports cat exhaust system getting it up to around 400bhp which would be a really good track car.

I am sure it was Shaun who sold his project car and was looking at either a hawkeye spec c or Jdm sti
Sure he went with the Jdm in the end, he has started a project thread so take a look I am certin he put his reasons for it in there, think he said for the weight difference you would not notice it on the road or track unless competing and trying to shave 10th's of seconds off lap times, think he even worked out calculations to show it. And being near on 4k more expensive the oil coolers can be added and still come in cheaper etc
Think the earlier spec c like 02-03 had big differences to the same year jdm sti but the later ones shared similar if not the same internals and parts

The later the Spec C the more like a JDM STi it is ... or is it vice versa early Spec Cs are much "better" compared the same MY version of the JDM STi. Shauns Spec C was slightly ghey as it even had sound deadening under the bonnet
