Apologies mate, didn't realise you've already had a quote with admiral. I am surprised at how much they've quoted some ppl tho. Any ideas why there's such a big difference between them and the likes of A-Plan?

Another vote for Flux... been with them for years and they have beaten both A-Plan & Keith Michaels!

Adrian Flux sent me my renewal back in Feb '09 which was around £950, this was there "best" price according to the letter they sent. I shopped around and got a quote from Greenlight which was £680. Told Adrian Flux I didn't want to renew as I found a cheaper quote. I told them about my new quote, they said they could match it no problem. I told them to do one. It really annoys me that they try it on like this, trying to make you think they're giving you a good deal when they are trying to have your pants down. Renewel came in this Feb and it was £100 cheaper than the year before, that's the first time that's ever happened to me, normally goes up slightly every year. I have a feeling the quote won't be so good next time as insurance as shot up this year.

People are lazy, I dropped Direct Line a few years back because they went from £650 to £995, I got my cover from Adrian Flux for £650, then they put it up to £1100... so I tried Moley and he is the man... stayed around £650 for ages till this year, it went down by a couple of hundred.

dunx

P.S. Old git, poor postcode, unlimited mods... optional track cover & 400+ bhp

Don't want to say I told you so but... Great news saved me a fortune which I've since spent on an engine re-build but loving my Type R.

Wow my brother used to be with Aviva with his WRX, but got quoted £1,200 this year! He's 38 with 3 years NCB, car is completely standard.

I live in north Manchester, OL16 postcode, 33 with just 2 years NCB but no claims (didn't have a car for 2 years when i was working away, so my 5yrs ncb lapsed) zero points in last 5 years, for a 98 uk turbo wagon (only mods are ninja2 backbox, no-name 17" alloys and mudflaps) and A-plan couldn't even give me a quote!! Last year was £900 with keith michaels so waiting to see what their renewal is.........

The usual comparison sites came back with £1535 - through a company that i'd never heard of and didn't stick in my brain either at that price!!!

Have tried aviva in the past and needed a long sit down afterwards - so will try again and post up for everyone's entertainment

Aviva: £3,188.00 = £305.96 per month

"An additional compulsory excess of £250 applies in the event of an Accidental Damage, Fire or Theft claim for this vehicle "

.......that's on top of the £350 standard excess

Ouch!!

Keith Michaels have come through with a renewal - £3 less than last year (with the same company). Which, although i've doubled my NCB from one to two years, with the increases seen by others in my area it seems quite reasonable.

Adrian Flux couldn't get below £1,500 - so only Greenlight left to try now, but looks like i'll be sticking with KM at this rate.
