You might want to swap the alloys for the standard boring ones before having the insurance assessor come out. If they see it has been altered from original spec they could refuse to pay anything out. I heard of someone that wrote a series 1 rs turbo off and because he had lower profile tyres and hadnt informed insurers they refused to pay out.

I agree with the above but at the same time that guy isnt going to get what his car is really worth due to the insurance company screwing him over so i wouldnt blame him for claiming personal injury, I mean come on people stop personal injury claims and you really think that would be reflected in premiums.

We are all fleeced on insurance so if your unlucky enough to need to claim he should get what he has paid his premiums for in the first place, agreed its wrong but in the real world its the only way to get back what you should be paid out in the first place. |Why should he get peanuts back on a car clearly worth more than they will pay.

Don't give the V5 to the insurance until they have made an acceptable offer and put it in writing that they are not to dispose of it until that point (in case you want an independent valuation done). This puts pressure on them to deal with it quickly - otherwise they will just string you along and hope you settle for the first offer because you are car-less and need the money.

Just to let you all no, Directline have rung about my claim. They have offered me £3400 for my car as its a right off, he said we had to take £65 off because it was slightly high miles. 101500ish
Are you happy with this value, I said.
So now all I have to do is send logbook off once they get it I will get a cheque for £2800.
Could have been worse and I deff want expecting that offer.
So I have around £6500 to spend

I no but I did some research, and parkers said my car was worth £2900 dealer. So my price i had in mind was £2600 privert good condition. So after access I still come out with £200 more then a realistic selling price.
So to speed up things and not take the ****, as I think it was a very good offer so accepted it. I may have come out with a few hundred quid more but as said, I liked the offer and was not expecting an offer as good.
Cheers

Thats mad mate, you said you did'nt need the cash so you should have declined and within the week they would have got back to you with a better offer.

But i suppose if your happy with the amount, thats all that matters.....

Best of luck mate with the new car...
