having now watched video I take it back.. looks like idle stepper motor is not openning fully and allowing air into the engine as it should.

If you take the idle stepper motor off and try cleaning it etc as the plunger gets grubby

dv being stuck open is unlikely as this has been swapped, same as the maf ok cant be ruled out it not faulty, but has been changed. has the op checked the pipes its basic stuff really. this is more than a slight leak. do you really expect this to be diagosed with out actually being has on?

Dump valve, Front mount and because of the front mount I would assume an induction kit as well? I would be getting it mapped pretty quick myself.

hi simon. sorry for the late reply and thanks to everyone for there replys. i tried the cables underneath and i never got any fault codes back. my only guess is the mafs failing and not totally failed yet.

im guessing its the maf so going to swap it around with my mates and try that. instead of buying a maf i no longer need.

thanks for all your help people!

Earlier in the thread you said youv already changed the maf with a new one, im confussed, or have i missed a point lol. Could try using your new maf that you think doesnt work on your mates car to see if it does work or not, then you could rule it out once and for all.

Which induction kit do you have? A K&n 57i is generally regarded as a safe option if you have to have an induction kit. There are many out there that will kill a maf in a very short space of time. I ran a 57i for 80k miles and replaced the maf once

This is why the OP isn't getting anywhere. You seem not to be able to read. JGM has made a perfectly good suggestion (and prodriverules even earlier)and you have completely ignored him.

You can't blame the advice of others on here if you fail to act on anything. You may as well have not asked for help as you have done your own thing anyway.

Hi Mate. Sorry i haven't replied to every post. ave been very busy and jump onto this when i can, infact i was so busy i didnt even notice this was 2 pages

THEREFORE i missed simons new advice! sorry that i didnt read simons new advice and rest assured everything everyones mentioned i have tried (apart from maf and idle stepper motor.

After thoughly going through my posts i see you have assumed something
"You can't blame the advice of others on here if you fail to act on anything."

where the **** did i mention not acting on anything? is it because im not giving a reply every 23 seconds. I only see my car at weekends. i didnt see it last weekend cause i was working. nor the weekend before, therefore i couldnt reply to my progress

another thing uve assumed
"as you have done your own thing anyway"

sorry but i fail to see during my posts where i said i have done my own thing. when infact everythings someones recommended i have tried.

Edit- thanks to everyone whos put in there advice. much appreciated.
but im one step away from breaking the thing into pieces.

You have replied on Page '2'! After prodriverules. And again after JGM's comments. You were very quick to answer my post also!

You are running sh!te loads of mods without remapping. Another comment you ignored. If you listen you may well get somewhere with it.

you clearly have ignored my post also. i only see the car at weekends most would agree that friday is the start of the weekend because most people finish on a friday. me working away from home untill friday means i dont see the car until yep thats right Friday. therefore my rapid response is because i am NOT working because its the weekend and i can see my car. until saturday when i fly to benidorm.

I have not ignored the advice of mapping i just havent replied. this close to christmas mapping is not an affordable option just yet.

Also i quoted simons text posted a reply then closed the explorer down. Which is why i didnt see there was 2 pages.

I have just attempted to clean the stepper motor. no joy so far. however does the piston inside move freely as i found mines very stiff to pull in and out?
