will try n get a pic for you.
well,i tested the stat again, using my colleagues laser temp reader and as you say Joz,the kettle only dishes out 75 odd degrees and the stat wouldnt open,as it didnt.
i microwaved again the water in stages and got it to read 85 and the stat opened rite up and closed at 75 so the stat is A1 as it should be, so in conclusion, it IS the sender LOL
at least having a new stat and sender will keep the car well heated/cooled for a few more yrs i hope !

well, what a pig of a job that was, very awkward, harder than geting the thermostat off, but i can safely say the sensor is now off and car ready for new sensor/stat when they arrive
Heres a pic of the front of the car,not a great pic, took while i was taking sensor off, but i put some piston gudgeon pins inline with the number plate holes and used some longer screws to get the no.plate to sit flush at the front, otherwise it sits rite back
and yes,i do love my scoop, someone has too
