if you find that "deeply" offensive you need to get a life!

Was a suprise present and when I saw the warm up act I was disappointed as I'd seen Campbell before and didn't like him.
However, he was the best bit about the whole night and his routine only lasted 20 minutes compared to Boyles hour.
Some of FB jokes were funny and others just really weren't
The live show and channel 4 material is basically the same.

You didn't even say second rate comedian, but, second rater. Think about it, what does that make you if you compare? The guy is a successful multi-millionaire.

Well if you all think Boyle is OTT you need to try the real hard core jokes ;-)
I'm still trying to figure out his thought processes, most comedians you can work out the joke's logic structure

NOt really been a fan TBH. Went to see him live last year, and although he made me laugh at times, I left feeling disapointed. There is always something said about a comic who has to swear `just` to get a laugh.
Now compare him to say, Jason Manford. Worlds apart. Couldn't stop laughing when I went to see him.

A line does exist in my opinion and Frankie Boyle is on the wrong side of it more often than he is on the right side of it. Such gutter 'comedy' just shows a lack of talent and material.

You have just made that up or/and it is pure fantasy.
Yes, I can say it was reasonable. For the record, Cancer has riddled members of my family. The difference, the guy is a comedian, if you take things comedians say as literal, then you will live a very depressing life
That is a cheap remark, the guy has a huge fan base in the UK and abroad.

You can quote your family's cancer if you like, did those who have had it find that joke amusing? For your information, I have been through that myself and I don't find that sort of thing funny at all. Nothing clever about it is there? Being a "comedian" as you say does not give him free licence to take advantage of someone else's disability or serious illness.
I don't care if he is the King of Scotland with shares in Fort Knox! Doesn't give him the right to make an **** of himself with respect to those in real trouble.
He is by all standards a poor attempt at being a comedian!

Funny you should say that!
When I first saw him I thought he wasn't too bad as a comedian but he seems to have lost it now. It is obvious of course that I don't go along with the subject in discussion being used like that.

I watched Frankie Boyle's Tramadol Nights last night and it was, imo, comedy genius.
Time moves on, maybe some of you just are not ready for him?
And yes, I've lost two very close friends and both my in laws to cancer. As said above, if you can't differentiate between personal tragedy and a completely impersonal comedy act, then you shouldn't be watching it in the first place.

It's something he was re-iterating throughout his live act when I saw him and to a lesser extent in Tramadol Nights that it is just one big joke. He doesn't seriously mean anything he jokes about that is close to the wire (i.e. most of it) I mean come on the paedophile stuff etc. he's got his own kids FFS. It's just a joke!
If I had terminal cancer (or a kid with Downs ) I want to be watching him to give me a good laugh and cheer me up a bit.
As for this supposed code of conduct that Les is about, hmmm Bernard Manning, Roy Chubby Brown, Jethro, Jim Davidson (early years), etc. obviously never adhered to it. In fact they were worse as it seems it's perfectly acceptable for them to be racist as well You won't find Frankie being racist as he will use every single minority and majority for comedy
To reiterate: Your TV has many channels and ultimately an off button, use them if you don't like what you see/hear.

Didn't say cutting edge - just different. There is every possibility your parents thought alternative comedy was not particularly funny. Mine certainly were not fans of it.
