issues as in type r car are meant to be driven so more stuff is gonna break quicker i spent good money on mine and in the first week the wheel bearing went not something you can blame the seller for and being a type r the rear wheel bearing is twice as much as a uk car.
like i said dont spend your whole budget on the car just incase cause if it does break and you cant afford to fix it ,youll be left with it sat around or worse still sell it for a loss

Things that you didn't find when you looked over the car. You don't spot everything
For example mine had really good tread on the Tyres, but after driving it for a while, i had to change them to get some better grip. Mine was fitted with Jap Tyres built for nice smooth roads. Just an example. Remember a fresh Jap import will need a remap or you'll be spending a small fortune on Octane booster. If a V3/4 comes with a standard ECU, that will mean an aftermarket ECU before you start
Make sure you have a decent check list to work with when you view a car. I have a reasonable, but not perfect one if you want to PM me your email address.
Good luck

Mine still has 31k on the clock, may be up for sale when she gets into the garage to have the last bits sorted (ap 4 pots etc), but wont be going for less than 7k! oh and she is modified, fmic, turbo etc, not too high a bhp figure though, around 320 which is more than enough and I have also had half the car resprayed due to the wonderful UK weather but she does look good now, get the rear spoiler finished and the small dent in the door removed (virtually no scratches or chips on the car ) and im done though I still may keep her, not decided yet

My V5 came with an Apexi, even though the standard ECU would have been ok.
Why would they swap the ECU and eat into their profits. They'll just tell you to run it with Octane booster and V Power which will take you more or less to the 100Ron required. Cost would soon mount up with Octane booster in every tank though
