Well we certainly had a very good day, as did all the 9 second runners, Clive, Frank, and Andy, and all running Lateral 2.35lt engine parts
The 9.46 is without the nitrous, so hopefully, there's more to come.
Mark.

I think if you're going to have classes, then there should be awards on all 3 disciplines for all 3 classes. E.g. Top 4 in each class for each discipline fight for the number 1 spot.
The way it went (for example) is that there was 4 awards for top speed, which all went to the C class. Pointless! Why bother having classes that can't touch the competition class?
I would personally like to see the 3 classes win 1 award each per discipline, and one award per class for the best car in class' overall "points" on all 3 disciplines. This would make a better way of giving awards out IMO. Rather than, "fastest circuit car - banana" "fastest drag time - banana" "fastest top speed - banana" it could be Fastest in CLASS - banana etc.
But hey, I doubt I would be listened to, afterall I have a standardish class car which falls into modified because of a cone filter

Scoobydoo69,
I totally agree that the awards need to be sorted out. The whole reason the classes were introduced was so that everyone had a chance to win a prize, and to encourage more people to have a go.
I didn't realize this had changed so much.
In previous years when I was one of the sponsors, I gave prizes in the 3 slowest 1/4 mile classes, for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 9 prizes in total, and other companies gave prizes for the other classes, disciplines.
I'm sure Scooby Clinic will look at this for next year, so more people are winning a prize/trophy.
Mark.

Thanks Mark. Despite my issues with the classes and awards I had a fantastic time and would not tell someone not to have a go because of the classes, as the fun was taking part not the winning.. but I can only wish more people entered this event. I remember coming to watch years ago with my dad and the event was rammed with sponsors, spectators and entrants. I could only hope for it to return to that form.

One of the Biggest Problems (not for me though ) is that Its quite a trek for some to get to Elvington, and once there your pushing your car to the edge of your seat with the thought that you have still got to use your car to return home in afterwards...... thus some ae forced to use roadside recovery
For me its 120 miles round trip
London = 400 miles
Glasgow = 450 miles
Cardiff = 500 miles
Aberdeen 700 miles
