As posted on the sso website by John Felstead

These are the rules to determine which class your car will run in at Scooby Shootout.

Standard class

Engine size - production only, 2.0 litre if originally 2.0 litre, 2.5 litre if originally 2.5 litre, no AVCS engines in classic Impreza.
Exhaust system - free
Remap - free
Fuel pump - free
Airfilter – Standard airbox, filter free.
Intercooler - Standard
Turbo – any OE unit, no hybrid turbos
Brakes – any OE brake caliper, any standard disk size, single piece disk only
Suspension – No coilovers, springs free
ARB’s and droplinks – free
Bodywork – standard (no aditional flaring of arches to enable larger wheels/tyres)
Spoilers/splitters/scoops - any OE unit
Tyres – Blue book production list 1a (no R type tyres or list 1b)
Fuel - Pump fuel only, no race fuel

Modified class

Anything not fitting in above
No lightweight panels (except decorative boot/bonnet/scoop)
No Perspex
No stripped interiors, missing carpets, missing seats etc
No slicks, wet race or rally spec tyres, (road legal R type tyres and MSA List 1b allowed)
No Anti lag
Fuel free

Unlimited class
Anything goes

Well seeing as I'm in modified class thanks mainly to my cone filter I think I need to get some semi slicks or something to remotely stand a chance - not that I will with such a potentially huge class...! I think the rules are a bit odd if I am honest, there will be a lot of big power cars with coilovers, brakes etc, that will be against people with standard turbos and front mounts.

IMO standard should be able to include cone filters, and intercoolers. And the modified class should be seperated somehow, there will be cars running in modified class which will be much faster than Unlimited class at this rate!

The class definitions ae quite funny, I`m gonna have to put my back seats back in to stop me from being placed in Unlimited class, when i`m only a set of budget coilovers above standard. Only a bit of fun though, i`m up for racing with the modified class!

The pipe is different sizing, therefore the MAF has been rescaled etc.

Yeah, I enjoyed it but i was in the wrong gear loads of times and by the time you realised your lap time is ruined

Need to get the car doing a proper 1/4 this year and I will do some more track events
