The downside was that it made me ill for a week - couldn't go to the loo and every meal made me feel terrible.
The pills weren't too bad but the Mrs went a bit funny which kicked me off. Never ever had that happen before and I've come to the conclusion that all this stuff floating about at the moment is FAR more dangerous than the old school drugs. Never going to be tempted with any of that carp again.
It makes me beg the question if de-criminalisation for the sake of safety wouldn't be a bad thing. If your caught with anything you just have it taken off you and its destroyed?? It wouldn't increase my useage but at least I'd be more aware of what it is.
Because it has to fit in with my/our daily life it's planned as much as a month ahead before I/we use anything (we use a little speed for our late night sexy time

Yes, the last ones i had, probably 8 years ago now where not a patch on the 'original' MDMA. I have however in the more recent past had some very nice MDMA powder which was very reminiscent of those heady daze.![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
IMHO, yes. Far more concerning than the 'known' or natural substances.
Decriminalization/legalization/right and wrong are not debates/arguments i like to go with. My views and thoughts are very strong and ingrained and have been so for a long time.![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Yep, exactly the same, apart from my Saturday night spliff, anything else has to be well planed and is considered a 'treat' if you will.
(Fet is also Mrs B's drug of choice.![Norty](images/smilies/norty.gif)

Oh i totally agree, totally.
As i said Dozza:
"I have had some very nice visual distortion from quality weed. Nothing to compere with LSD or mushrooms, but never the less."

Also, ironically, I'll take a little on those odd occasions we go into town on the drink. The irony is that it stops me getting drunk and I end up feeling sober going home - wide eyed and a still a little silly but sober and in control and not a drunken ***. Crazy using one drug to counter the affects of another!

We know that drugs are to a certain extent mind altering. The real point is, is it worth risking screwing your brain up in later life?
Take a look at some to the older members of the various groups and see what constant abuse has done to them. Trouble is, you don't know it is happening until it is too late.
What is the point?

It is more to do with an individuals 'self' Les. If there are addictive tendencies or existing mental issues, then certain substances will accelerate/intensify those issues.
As with alcohol, there is as bigger difference between getting pissed at the weekend and drinking yourself into a stuper every day, as there is having a few joints or a dab of speed at the weekend, and shoving needles full of smack into your groin on a daily basis.
If you are of sound mind to start with, and you use that soundness to make judgment calls on your own behaviour you should come to little harm. I know old old hippies (even older than you Les

What's the point you ask??? To alter your state of mind a little. Just as you do when consuming your 12 year old Sloe Gin.

Just because your drug of choice happen to be legal, and other peoples choice is not, makes no difference to the health aspects. They can all damage us to some extent, whether it be Heroine overdose, lung cancer or alcoholic poisoning!
Each to their own.

Was going to type up a long reply regarding the pros and cons of all the drugs I've tried (legal and illegal) but decided it would take too long ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Smoked dope from around 20 years old though would never class myself as a heavy user, just a bit a weekends when in the mood and was a bit of a lightweight so pretty much one or two joints would do me for the evening. Only really gave up at around 35 years old as the missus doesn't partake and I think I'd find it a bit odd getting high while she stayed sober. That and I wanted to completely give up smoking so not having dope as an excuse helped. Would still be nice to have the odd smoke now and then.
Anyway, I absolutely loved it, with the right friends (and I was very selective on that front) it made for such a pleasant way to spend an evening either listening to music, watching some comedy, or just out over the fields on a warm summers evening lying around and talking bollocks. Never a heated word exchanged just a mutual appreciation of the company and the environment (sound like a right hippy
).
I did also enjoy the odd smoke at home alone, amazing way to switch off on a Friday evening after the stresses and strains of a week at work. So nice to get in have some tea, few smokes and beers, watch a movie or two, veg out to some tunes and then have the most amazing nights sleep. Felt so fresh in the morning and would often be off out on the mountain bike, not something I would contemplate after and all night drinking session.
So my personal experience is that as far as I can tell it has done me no harm (aside from the tobacco use) and certainly for me and most of my friends it seems that if taken it moderation it can be a very positive experience.
