The sidelights wired into the dips?

I can PM you a set of instructions that would get you going, you would need to buy two on/off relays, at least one fuse & holder, wire and connectors, plus you'd need the use of a multimeter or a circuit tester.

www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk are good. They will have all your requirements with you in a couple of days.

NOT the cheapest, but quality gear, plus they will cut the wire to length for you, in your chosen colour and thickness. Let me know when you want some instructions, I might even run to a circuit diagram, but tbh, the written instructions are simpler.

There's a set of hellas that have a side light as well as a main beam

So when I have my headlights on dipped the driving lights can produce a sidelight within them and then when I switch to main beam on my headlights the main beam comes on the driving lights also

And using the fog switch to completely disable them if required

Hope that makes more sense?

Could you PM me a diagram etc as I'm really interested

Thanks

Just splice the side lights into your current ones (feed the wires down behind the bumper) & as Jeff say's wire your spots with a relay via main beam. I was originally planning to run with the spots on a switch, but i didn't have a second relay at the time ...but can't say i've ever missed not having a switch

What does a relay do? As you can splice the sidelights onto the hella sidelights, but not just splice the main beam onto the driving lights main beam?

Because the wiring wont take another 110w (2x 55w bulbs) & will just melt. A relay is just an electrical switch, you'll splice from your main beam & use this as a feed to your relay & then power your spots from the relay/battery with uprated wiring.

It's the switch which gets damaged by extra current, it quickly destroys the contacts. A relay is just an electro-magnetic switch with nice heavy duty contacts.

Winston: I'll e-mail you a wiring diagram as an attachment. It'll be coming from a hotmail addy, so look out for it in your junk folder

received the diagram, thanks fella it really clears it up for me!
To be cheeky would it be possible for you to add what you feel is required to do the job onto a shopping basket on the mentioned website, take a screen grab of it and email it to me?
how would it be possible to have the side lights selectable also? Just do the same but from the side lights positive?
Thanks for your time mate
