So you think by going on facebook, you won't be able to stay faithful to your wife?

Or maybe you think it will make you more attractive?

So how does it work "vetting candidates as part of a recruitment process"?

You get a CV in and check on the social networking sites on what they have been up to - simples.

We also streetview their houses to ensure they don't have a caravan in the drive or other pikey nonsense (jetskis etc)

So a jetski mean they are a pikey and you would not ensure them?

I would reject someone for owning a Subaru, but to own a jetski shows they have a hobby other than eating and drinking, and could be healthy and fit.

I think your plan is flawed.

70% jetski owners jetski on lakes not at sea, the go round and round and round the lake. Ergo we categorise them with the mentals - OCD at the very least.

subaru ownership is a given I don't even communicate with those types

My reasons are very similar for being inactive there. I joined FB due to a couple of real life friends pestering me to do so. All my real life friends can communicate with me on phone, or face-to-face, so why would I chit-chat with them there for? I can talk to virtual people from SN on SN itself. Why would I go there, talking again to them for?? Makes no sense. Moreover, you have to call your contacts over there "friends". Well, the things is, you don't call everyone your mate, just because you chit chat with them. To my choice, "Friend" is a very special status, and it is qualitative. Not as casual as FB makes it as. I do go there sometimes to pick my PMs from some real life, good friends that live away; far away from the maddening crowds. So, the cloud has a silver lining, after all.

Just because I found something funny, there's no need to get upset and insult.

Upset? Who's upset? You it would seem

Insult? Nope, don't think so. Just pointing out that you seem incapable of understanding my post despite it being written pretty clearly. That's not an insult, it's a fact!

If you are going to laugh at me then don't get upset when I point out why you are wrong to do so!!

I will give you a fantastic example of how it can help.

Whilst looking for an au pair a couple of years ago we were contacted by an American girl who wanted to come for an interview. In her CV she was demure and looked exactly the part.

Just out of curiousity I checked her on Facebook

The best pictures out of her profile pictures was her sitting on the toilet in a right state smoking a 'roll up'. The caption read, "Nothing like a good **** after a pull".

She also looked a little different to her CV - head was shaved on one side and long on the other.

I am sure she was actually a good laugh - but not for looking after a 6 month old baby.

when did I say that ?? did my comment hit a guilty nerve ??

Seriously, there are a lot of people out there that have stuff to hide and dont want their exploits to be made public ( its even been said on this thread ) and most defend the choice with the words " its sad " and "get a life "

I doubt I've ever mentioned Apple online anywhere but here, not enough 'Biters' elsewhere you see.
