Would like to see how much interest there would be on a Ecutek mapping group buy

So looking at 4-5 cars at a central location to each group based on location, to make it worth your travel. Depending on where people who are interested are based...
Just read that back to myself and but sure it made much sense but hopefully you get what I mean

Indeed it was JGM I wanted to remap mine.
Thing is, I believe he can do mine whenever he's in the Mids. area (every 2 weeks?). But I wanted a dyno run/remap on the rollers (at Scoobyworks), and it'll cost me no more than £350 - depends how much of my existing map needs changing, etc. (+ £xx for dyno run).
So unless I can get a better deal than that? (hence why I mentioned 'provisionally' in the group buy list )...................

I'd be interested in a group buy for remapping my car, I was in any case going to book it in with Simon JGM once i've had my exhaust, decat and fuel pump fitted, that should be going ahead next month, but I live in Kent not far from where he lives I think so was going to see if he could come to me to do the car, but if a group buy could be organised with him to get the price down a bit then I could be up for it.

Most people won't be jumping all over the Ecutek because it offers nothing offer an open source route as offered by Duncan.... It's half the price with exactly the same results mate!
Obviously if you got a 97-00 car you have to go down a different route.

Good question!
I'm assuming it's because Ecutek was widely available before the open source options were widely available!
There is very little better than the std Ecu with a custom map on it lets face it, Subaru spent millions developing this ECU, an ECU that monitors EVERYTHING on the car
You will need an after market ECU if you want very specific things but on the whole open source is hard to beat!

Difference between EcuTek and OS is difference of mapper and tools which use....
About the Simon i've heard lots great results, same like Duncan,Bob Rawle and other mappers.
At the moment EcuTek offer nothing more as Open Source,at moment Open Source offer more like ALS,Speed Density, deleting MAF etc. via Group N ROM,these functions will be available maybe at new EcuTek RaceROM,but who know....Only few beta tester(mappers) and EcuTek
If its worth EcuTek?

The later 32bit ECU's can have flat foot shifting and a variety of other very very cool toys.
open source doesn't offer Antilag that I am aware of, am happy to be proven wrong.... not without some hardware plumbing anyway! It does however off launch control which y its very nature offers a kind of anti lag (same as flat foot shifting) as it just puts in a soft rev limiter
EcuTek will have to come out with something very spectacular to sway owners of the later cars away from Open source and part with an EXTRA £300 of heard earned pennies i nthis day and age!

Ok I now have some details to base this group buy on, thanks Bob
The group buy mapping will be done by Bob Rawle
Full first time remap of the factory ecu would be £400 plus vat (typical normal retail £550 plus vat)
Remap of the factory ecu assuming it had been EcuTek mapped before (licence paid) would be £260 plus vat
Other ecu mapping such as Apexi, Link, Autronic, Motec, Syvecs, Simtek would be quoted as and when the questions are asked. Really it would depend on what was wanted, typically he would charge from about £280 plus vat to map an installed aftermarket ecu or to install and map a customer supplied ecu and we can discount that but the scope is not as great hence the need to understand what is required first.
If a group of people are in a specific location then he would be happy to travel to deal with that group, say three people as a minimum, if there are enough in one location he would also do more than one day to accommodate everyone. Depending on each car and its mods then he can do four cars in a day as a minimum.
Individuals traveling to him personally would also get the group buy cost if organised through the group buy
A £50 deposit would confirm a booking and will be made directly with Bob, he can take cash or plastic over the phone

Please add your names to the list with your vehicle details, what modifications you have done/planned and what level of performance you are aiming for and your location and ideal time window for the remap. I'll arrange it into groups/dates the best I can...
