Ha ha ha, the desperatism!

Look, I made a typo earlier. I meant to type "...sister's fit mate..." i.e. her hairdressing FRIEND is fit (but a lot older now - so haven't a clue if she's still 'got it').

So sister's got dragged into this by mistake. But to answer your question anyway, although my sis doesn't look like the feisty porcine puppet per se, she is knocking on a bit now and certainly no oil painting.

So, do we think the £13.50 is a bit expensive ?

Considering the old guy said when he sold it that the new owner wouldnt be increasing prices so a 68.75 % was quite a surprise when I went.

I can afford to pay but I think with everything else going on its time to find a better value alternative.

If I were you Monsieur Jackon, I'd get my hair cut at a different place that is cheaper. Then compare the cheaper place to the current one? So if the cheaper place is as good, then how justify spending the extra on the same outcome?

It's like shopping in Waitrose for the same stuff you get in Tescos but paying more Some people like to subliminally boast how much wonga they have (you're not one of them - you drive a Saab ).

As in the words of Taaj from 'Come fly with me' "Isn't it, you get me'.

I pay £11. Was £9 during last year then about Aug time it went up £2.

Grade 2 back and sides then cut short on top, prob takes about 20 mins (gents only barbers).

Not the cheapest but then it's only just down the road for me too so I can either walk/bike, rather than burning petrol in the car, which is what I would have to do if I went someone else.

On money saving, without even any intention of saving, I recently spent so little on food over my 2 days travel away. I was not keen on going to the restaurant and bar area by myself this time, so I went to Sainsbury's and got some bits and pieces (chiken breast, couscous and salad type of things) for 4 quid a day, to eat inside my hotel room, sod the room service too. I was so bleddy chuffed with myself! I will always do that in future.

Too right! Do that DCI.

I ate healthy, saved money and felt good.

I could stay at friends' there, but that doesn't allow me space to get on with my work in evenings. So, B&B and hotels have to do for now until I get myself a caravan.

I can't resist a bargain, (not just a bargain..... finding a chance to buy something at a price much lower than you would expect,) almost to the point of stupidity.

We were in Val Thorens skiing over Christmas. A 330ml bottle of water on the slopes was about 4 euro, but you could ski to the front door of a supermarket and get the same bottle for 9 cents, so water was purchased in the supermarket. One day they had only 5l bottles left. (80 cents) - I bought one, as I wasn't paying 4 euro for a tiny bottle. Went outside and OH says "WTF are you going to do with that?" - It was too heavy to ski with, and having paid for it I couldn't chuck it away, so I drunk it.... in about 10 minutes. I am 99% sure I got hypothermia, and spent most of the next 3 hours looking for yet another toilet, but hey - Its was cheap.

Its quite good too, because the girl that cuts my hair has rather large tats and rubs them on the back of my head
I'm sure she does it on purpose sometimes.

I know what you mean, glass of wine in the Radisson in Birmingham was nine quid, so I went over the road to see the helpful Asian Chappies in the convenience shop, got a nice bottle for less than that and took it back to my room, ordered room service, £20 for a "Club" sandwich, basically some nsty chicken and cold, breakfast leftover bacon, disgusting.

They (the place I go to) don't call it a hair cut, its a hair style, and you have a stylist who cuts it, but thats after someone has taken your coat, offered you a cup of coffee, and then got another person to wash and condition (with mint extract) your hair even though you washed it the night before.

Once they have finnished, they then have to add 'product' and finalise the look with some small touch ups.

After that you pay your money, walk out, and wonder if you look like a ****.
