.... and it seems to indicate that a new STi is over £33,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I looked in May 2010 - they were being knocked out for £27,000 ..... which, for something so cheaply built and ill equiped was ludicrous.
£33,000+ is complete madness ...... the loss through depreciation is massive, what over 3 years? A loss of £23,000 I would guess?
An Impreza was never really cheap - but this has got ridiculous ........

£33k is expensive. But its not the same car as last years and any case, its the Yen / Pound exchange rate thats caused the increase.
Go find a quicker car for less money. Oh sorry, I forgot - a diesel Civic is quicker isn't it?

Anyway, since you don't own your Impreza anymore is there any chance of a few pictures to see what it was that made you fall in love with the brand?

There are a few people with their heads stuck firmly in Subaru Sand
That's fair enough - Scooby ownership is addictive ... I loved it for over 10 years - I am a Subaru fan!!
But, I'm also extremely intelligent, wise and pragmatic .... I can see the end of the road whilst others go charging on off the cliff.
The Scooby, sadly, is becoming less popular than a fart in a spacesuit ... and thus, it is complete madness to buy a new STi at £33,405 - for what has, after all, all the appeal of a ***** with the Pox!!!
I see that fuel will be £1:45 a litre in April and £1:60 in August ...... whatever you say, I predict that a 3 year old STi will be less than £10,000 (that's IF, and it's a BIG if) you can sell it at all
A £23,000+ loss over 3 years is too fierce for someone with the high IQ I have.
You're ALL DOOOMED!!!!

EVO X GSR FQ-330 is £31K and they are offering really low finance offers.
Love Scoobs but the new STI saloon should be £25K, its far too closely priced to a new S4.
Also think about the prices of the VW Passat R36 and the Vax Insignia VXR 4 wheel drive jobbie.
The Cosworth STI was another marketing disaster, Ken Block and his youth appeal switching brands. blah blah.
Suggest we all wait for 18 months time for some nice deals on a used MY2010 STI saloon from autotrader:-)

Petrol is expensive, cars are expensive, food is expensive... Etc. Even running a civic diesel is getting expensive. I'll still be driving a performance car when petrol is £2 a litre, why? Because I want to & that is the crux of it, the sensible side of me means I drive a derv munching mungdano when I need to go somewhere long distance & in comfort. The times when I want to have a bit of fun or a trackday or a trip to the ring, I take the scoob. When you have no kids, a very small mortgage, no debts & enough disposable income, you can do exactly what the **** you want to.

The going price for them here at the moment is +60,000 Euros, YES believe it!

Well, despite Fud's post, no, we weren't. I wouldn't buy anything new unless I was darned well to do! At any sensible preice level there's always going to be a better option 2 yrs old. I'd certainly have an RS4 before a new Scoob or Evo.

I have never heard the "dont know they are born" quote used in that context.
Sorry boys, like i said i must be having a blonde moment.

£33,405 for a Scooby STi is, let's be serious, madness!!
Thousands of 6 month old serious metal comes in for less than that - badged gear.

Not new though it is Pete.
As you said... the Impreza will apparently lose massive amounts of money, so if comparing 6 month old cars what price do you think the Impreza will be at? (use that ammo well Pete.... you know what i mean )

Honda, on the other hand, were down 15% on 2009.
Perhaps word has got out that you drive one which has sent buyers running?
