had the pleasure of meeting yoza once as he lives locally, he wanted me to meet him to make a donation on his behalf for the Blackpool illuminations run as he could not attend personally. he was a polite, well spoken gent (yes there is such a thing in liverpool believe it or not!) and would also like to add that if the people that did "bait" him had met him down their local, they would of not looked sideways at him, let alone "bait" him. IMO there is, and always will be keyboard warriors!

Of course, that only happened because a certain known group of users hounded him.
That's no excuse for his actions, but if we permanently removed the persons who were responsible for the initial baiting, the situation may have not have escalated in the manner it did. If we noted the pattern of users involved alot sooner, maybe the outcome would have been different, who knows?
Keep pushing someone and they will react. Although call me cynical, could that have been the whole intention to ensure he did get banned?

It's a shame you were over ruled as there is no smoke without fire so all involved should have been treated the same and banned for life.

I get your point Ali, but if everyone who baited and maybe said somehting that others wanted to get wound about got banned then well I think only the Admins would be here as even the mods put there foot wrong occasionaly
I think the line which was clearly crossed was the threats of violence that makes things different imo as there is no need to be like that when there are so many other options available.
Also I must be getting old as I don't even remember the post you mentioned (I know you will pull it up now lol)

I read scoobynet pretty much every day during my lunch break. Don't post a whole lot but I still keep coming back even though I haven't owned an Impreza for a few years now.
I just can't believe this type of stuff really goes on!!

I also attended a few local meets with him and I found him to be a very funny bloke.
Agree with the quote above though, you'd be foolish to try and 'bait' him to his face!!
He's probably lurking as a different user....

Bet it was a discussion over quartz or automatic

If someone wants to post on this forum about anything which is acceptable and within the rules, that is all a perfectly fair action.
Yoza was well within his rights to post about his main interest, ie watches, and those who were not interested were not forced to read about them.
If he was effectively forced off because of his threads about watches then I very much regret that, even though I have no personal interest in that subject. There are enough others on here who are interested anyway.

My own perspective is that the community is best preserved by encouraging diverse interests and where views are to be disputed this is done with respect.

Well said, Les. There's a very small number of users on this board who think or feel that it is their domain. Should the general zeitgeist not align with their own worldview then they cojule and manipulate unsuspecting users into carrying out their dirty work and employ ignoble devices to serve their desires.
