Your work colleague is scum imo, especially as I guess he knows about the old fella's position. If he doesn't, tell im to reconsider his claim.

I will not tell him as an adult what to do but I've outlined the position it puts me in and the fella that hit into us.

Its a sad state of affairs that the only person who 'wins' out of this is a person who doesn't have to worry about insurance costs as he can't drive. Needless to say the Jamz3k free taxi is now closed to all but family.

Just right too James.

I hope that co-worker you give lifts to work washes - unlike some of the others in your workplace.
Does he contribute to fuel costs?

Lesson duly learnt, do not give co-workers lifts to work. It isn't worth the hassle.
Always someone ready to cheat and jump on the bandwagon isnt there?

I think I would insist that he produces a medical certificate to prove his "injury" before you go any further with the insurance for the sake of the bloke who hit you. Unfair that he should suffer because of the co-worker's greed when he was prepared to stump up for the repairs anyway.

What gets me the most is the amount of people telling him that he should claim because its easy money! It annoys me greatly.

I agree with you completely.

If it was me, he would be in severe danger of losing his lift to work!

Well this is turning out to be a complete pain in the *****. My insurance are trying to tell me that I never told them about the accident, which i did on the day but their systems were down and the other parties insurance are trying to work out liability even though I was rear ended and the driver of the other car has admitted liability.

3 weeks now and my car isn't fixed and it has a very twitchy back end. Starting to lose my rag.

Well I hope they get their act together. You should not have to put up with all that incompetence.

Mate thats ****, seriously. Get on the phone and friggin' complain a bit more.

My car was hit on Thursday and after spending most of yesterday on the phone (whilst in bloody agony), I'm getting to car recovered today and (hopefully) my hire car delivered today too.

Insurance ombudsman.

Argh Argh Argh, Got a letter in about my claim. Apparently this old fella has admitted to the accident being his fault but is saying that I wasn't the one driving my car! Not even the guys i've got to handle the claim understand why he has done this. So now they've had to involve a solicitor.

Starting to wonder if I was gullible feeling sorry for this old codger.

James, if he doesnt have the other fellows details Id leave him high and dry. If your insurance company dont know that he was in the car too then he is stuffed if you do that.
