Too "tubular" in design can fail if a torque wrench is not used and the nuts are suffering corrosion.

I'll be looking for some bog std ones.
I never understand how people manage stuff like this...

The ones subaru supplied seem to have worked for me and are still going strong after 16 years of German winters.

There re a lot of fakes available in the Alloy wheel nut market. RAYS have a document to help you determine if they are genuine or not - and a Chinese internet vendor sell 'D1 Spec' alloy wheel nuts in colours D1 Spec themselves don't even do!

Buy from a reputable vendor, keep them clean and lube the threads - use a torque wrench to 65Nm and you will be fine - mine have been on nearly 4 years now...

I have genuine sti nuts, they are about £100 but well worth it. Far superior quality to anything else.

I have had mine about two years and are still like new. They arent steel because they are made to be lighter thats the point. They are a lot stronger than all cheap ebay stuff.
