480bhp as a starting point, the motor has a load of capability if I want to go twisted. Pick it up on tuesday

Thinking your it because you have a STI badge gives me a lot of confidence

The WRX owners all come out fighting!!....how many Sti parts/ spec Parts you had to put on those WRX's to get the power up??.....

The bottom line as previously mentioned is a WRX is here for those who could'nt afford the Sti new price. After all, if anyone had 20+k for a WRX NEW, they had the extra £150 for insurance, they could not afford the extra 4-5k to buy an sti new....

i bought my WRX at 21. I couldn’t get insurance at any cost on a STI.

6 Speed gearbox is the only key part you need from a STI if you run big power. We are not "fighting" i was just correcting your error and over confidence.

Well consider yourself failed then.

P.s.
I said cost NEW.

Do you think car manufactures are thinking "we better design a car that will be £150 less to insure so when it falls far enough in price some young kids can insure it"...WRX is here becuase when it was NEW, many people would'nt or could'nt stretch to an Sti. It has NOTHING to do with 2nd hand costs, pride, or insurance.
IMHO.

p.s. I had a WRX previously, loved it, great machines.

So at 21 you had the money to buy a brand new WRX Impreza. You also had the money for an Sti.....but it was the insurance that swayed it???!!!! I do not think so.

A wrx will never be an STI, end of, no matter what you do with it, thats the main point, yes you can replace all the parts etc but that still doesnt make it better (or worse), its a badge to some people or a monument to others, but the STI will always be better than a WRX (even if you replace all the parts on a wrx )
Still they all have one badge thats the same and thats Subaru

Absolutley, and well put Tony.

I was only pointing out, that a WRX is in place as not everyone could afford an Sti (NEW). Simple. WRX is a less hardcore version of a very hardcore car if you like.

N.B. When i had my blob WRX PPP, i pretty much always wished i saved 2 more months and just got an Sti....its a pride thing perhaps. WRX is entry level Impreza Turbo motoring, and there is nothing at all wrong with that

^^^ Mate its a great looking car....no doubt....

funny though i have an STI spec D, nice and discreet, not standard but classy, and DISCREET.

You have a WRX which start discreet and you chose to make it look like an Sti....which mine IS, but does'nt have to shout about it.....no doubt your is gonna be fast, very fast, but why does it need to "MIMIC" an Sti, when its a nice modded WRX??

Because you want people to think it IS one?

Your garage is empty so researching your car is rather difficult.
F1 CJE UK runs 480bhp. So your saying that your car produces more?

This thread has really gone off topic, RCM don’t seem to rate the rcm 500 as much as there 450 range, maybe down to the fact the project aimed for a fast road car. Twisted a option in the future but i would like to jump power levels in stages.

Wrong again, the Prodrive wing is the most effective rear wing it’s a option over the STI wing. The wheel are light weight and are the only wheel RCM sell that would fit over my 6pot AP brakes (much better than the baby brakes fitted to a STI ) . I am also a Rally fan So go for the rally slag look.

i doubt very much rcm would say the rcm/md321v would not work as a "fast road" car especially on a 2,35! its bloody quick on a 2.0 and provern

No they just recommended the RCM 450 for the goals I gave them. My spec is on the same lines as skullfudge so a twisted turbo would give so very nice results but power figures are not my thing, i just want a great road car that i can take to a track and enjoy.

What power levels are you making ?
