This is a pic of mine a few years ago before i put a little more carbon stuff on it.. and had a few extra bits put on like PCIII, Ignition Module, De-cat, Quickshift and High Flow Pipercross filter.. Then took it to Crescent to have it Dyno'd and have anew fuel and ignition maps done for it.

I got a 2009 ZX10, I get around a lot quicker in that than my scooby, I find I have to keep changing gear in scooby, then again when you red line 1st at 105Mph on a bike you don't really need the gear box. cornering wise bike and car do it totally different so it works out about the same. But the bike comes into it own for traffic

How was the low down torque? Did the mods make it worse or better?

I have found a few good ones for sale and some have been modified. I don't want to lose any low down torque as I don't want to be on the revs all the time, but I still want it to pull...

Plus the fact that when I had my scooby I could go around this corner near my house at about 90 now on the R6 cuz I'm getting use to it I can't even get over 50.

But I am a new rider once I get experiences then it will be good

There is a roundabout I do my knee downs at 80, I tend do it at 70 in scooby but when I was 3 up, I lost the back (accidently) and end up almost 90° to direction of travel.

Thats where I get my kicks from too, end of the day it is not about the power it is about the knowledge of that road and hazard assessments..............who dares wins and maybe dies!!!!!!!!!!

The mods made it soooo much better to ride after i left Crescent it was like a completly different bike..

Here is the power graph, not a bad output for power at the rear wheel..

I love some of these on comments on this tread, I love riding in London although I 'd rather do it on my GS500 as the ZX10 is waisted in town, other cars and hazards do not phase me as I am normally on the ball, if I am not comfortable in a situation I get out of there and back into my comfort zone.

Being in your comfort zone is key to riding, I do push them limits and I must admit I get more adrenaline going on the bike than I do in car (like getting the back out at 80MPH, more fun on the bike than the car)

There are to many factors involved in the car V bike debate mostly down to the rider/driver than the type. This makes them un-comparable, the way I see it is anyone can drive a car but only certain types of people belong on bikes (no I am not saying bikers a superior) but if you don't feel comfortable on a bike then you should not be on one or you need educating (Bike Safe, IAM, Rospa) all great things to do and valuable experiences can be learnt.

End of the day it is all about HOONINGAN saftley!!!!

That is not bad, my std ZX10 was doing 172BHP 79ft-lbs at 500 miles from new, I have now done a few bits but not done any power runs.

You over on Gixerjunkies forum?

I want to be able to get my knee down but I just need a lot more experience before I try.

knee down will come with riding time/experience, don't rush your self and keep in your comfort zone slowly pushing your personal envelop.

When I changed bikes I found I could not get my knee down due to my confidence holding me back, I took a long ride out and on the way home got my knee down without trying, I then found I could do it at ease after that.

bike in traffic = win, bike in rain = loose, bike vs road car = win, bike vs track car = loose

did i miss anything? lol

all joking aside, go out in one of the track prepped cars on here, duncan, andy harvey, kev horsley etc and the bike will seem pretty slow again even in a straight line

^^ On a clear twisty road (throw in some drizzle!) a sports bike won't keep up with a powerful scoob ... give them a busy straight road & watch them disapear I've never had problems sticking with sports bikes on the road much to their annoyance it seems ...

Well the fastest car I have been in is a noble and when he put his foot down in that it shifted very well 0-60 in less than 4secs (don't quote me on that) and my R6 would leave that easily.

I'm not sayin bikes would be faster but surely a good rider on a track bike would win a track car ?

Power to weight ?

um, 4 seconds 0-60 is pretty slow in the big scheme. nock a second+ off that 0-60 at least for some of the cars on here, i believe mikey is doing 2.something to 60

the chaps i've mentioned are running ni on 600bhp or higher, the cars wont be too far off a tonne once stripped out etc, the bike will have real traction issues getting its power down compared to a car off the line and untill at high speed due to the very small contact patch and it trying to wheely.

Totally difference braking/cornering techniques when it comes to bike V car, main thing is rider/driver abilities

I don't see the analogy straight road + cars = **** easy for bike to get away as it just zigzags through the traffic ...
